You are getting pretty good at cutting those pope ends. Can you cut them free hand yet? 😊 The fence looks 💯 % better than the old one. The cows will let you know if there are any weak spots as soon as they find them.

You have a lot to think about, with the wind blowin to barn, you made a good call. I had to call rural fire district once when a burn pile got away from me, burnt a couple acres of grass pasture, I was lucky that was all. You made made right call, before you had a fire. Good watch

Very interesting, I learned a lot. Never a boring moment on a Ranch, always something to do, especially when, "You arent like some people ", LOL Good idea before and after photos, helped clarify things. As a Northern Californian and always on fire alert too, I understand about the winds and not welding. I was wondering if you lightly hosed down the area with water before, where you are working, would that decrease sparks catching the weeds on fire? Not lots of water making it muddy, but enough to give a bit of a barrier? We enjoy the channel, my Grandbabies like how the cattle watch you, LOL

Herd animals like cattle and sheep are too often thought of as "dumb" by most people. The reality is quite different. Just their intense curiosity should be a clue that they're actively engaged with everything in their world. I think the HoofGP said it best: "Cow's have two major responses to something different in their environment: 'Ohh... What's that?' or - 'AHH! WHAT'S THAT!'"
