A grandpa fought back tears of joy when his grandson surprised him by restoring his beloved 1954 pickup truck, which had not been in working order for decades. Richard Kincheloe, from Lebanon, Missouri, initially purchased the 1954 International Harvester pickup with his mother for $50 and a hog when Richard was just 15. For more than 45 years, the truck, nicknamed Cannonball, remained on Richard's land - and one day, it even caught the eye of his grandson, Blake Kincheloe, 20. When Blake was about three or four years old, Richard, 68, took him to see Cannonball, which resulted in Blake pointing at the vehicle and saying, "That's my truck." Richard agreed with his grandson, saying, "Okay, that's your truck," but Cannonball sat on the farm for years, not in a drivable condition. When Blake was old enough to start working and save a little money, he took Cannonball from the farm hoping to add new brakes to the vehicle. Over time, however, Blake's plans changed, and he decided to restore the truck to working order. Richard had no idea the truck was gone, and for months, Blake worked on Cannonball with the help of a local company, C&J’s Classic and Muscle Cars. Then, on December 9, it was time for the big surprise, with Blake driving the truck down the road to his family's home, where Richard was standing outside. Richard proclaimed, "I never thought I'd live to see this," before fighting back tears as his grandson showed him around the working vehicle.

You are a very good grandson and a very good son and a very good person. The respect that you have for your family shows. You have been raised well. I hope that you are able to carry the lessons that you learned on to your own children and grandchildren.

This choked me up... I'm finally in a position to where i can restore my grandfather's 84 c10 and I am so excited. I can still remember the day he pulled in the driveway on it. It was brand spanking new and I was four years old. I used to sit in his lap and "help" him steer it down the road. He taught me how to drive in that old truck. Hell, he taught me everything! My only regret is that he had passed for some time before I got it so he won't get to see it... but his children and other grandchildren will and that makes it worth every minute of time that I'm putting into it. I can't wait to teach my baby boy how to drive in my Paw-Paw's old Chevy!

I was 7 when my Grandpa bought his brand new 1955 Chevrolet BelAir(?). I asked him if I could have it when he decides to sell it down the raod. He said yes, but he had it for 12 years and must have forgotten that we had discussed the car. Or maybe he thougt that a 7 year old would not remember.

That looks like a 1954 R100 or R110 with a silver diamond 220 (SD220ci) Straight six with a one barrel holley carb with oil bath air filter and sock type oil filter. Gosh I miss my '55.. Mine had the single rear window where as yours has the two rear windows. Was I close on any of it? Mine was a positive ground 6V and I switched it to a 12V Negative ground, The starter really spins fast when you do that. Top speed, still about 55mph. I think mine is somewhere in Townsend Montana, sold it when I got divorced.

That was a really great thing to do! Also, thank you for filming the video for all of us to see! I am glad that at least some younger people like myself understand and care about their family and the time they get to spend with them. For a little context, I am 19, and I enjoy working on my grandpa's old Model Ts that are over 100 years old now. He passed away when I was only 4 years old, and I never really got to know him that well, and I can only relate to him through pictures videos and the cars. I can feel a connection with my family through the cars. To me, it is important to spend time with my family, and that really means a lot to me. I am very happy that you put in the hard work to get his truck running again. I hope that the old International will stay in the family for a very long time.
