Love Grant Hill but the exact argument he made for White can be the same for Brown. Brown plays great defense and has the size to defend guards and forwards. The Conference Finals and Finals MVP not being on the team is not cool at all. That’s like the League MVP Jokic not being on the Serbian team.

Grant Hill dodged the question as to why European players are developing over American players. Every coach in the country can answer this question. But he dodges it. How sad. We recruit athletes while Europe develops basketball players. It's been going on for over 40 years and now because of AAU basketball these players play games and don't develop their skills. I could write a thesis on this. It is so sad.

Yeah, it probably should have been Brown instead of White, but the team needed another lockdown perimeter defensive player and White certainly fits that bill. The full roster as constructed is outstanding, and Grant certainly deserves good credit for that. The bigger problem for the US internationally in recent years has been the lack of interior quality and depth, but with Embiid (who looked much better today against the Serbs than he looked in the exhibition games, Bam and AD, it looks like that problem has been solved. It was great to see KD come in and light up the Serbs dramatically, and with a healthy KD and the rest of that cast, the US is not going to lose in this Olympics.

Grant Hill put the finger on the main issues USA team has to face on this Olympics. In one side, players are not prepared for FIBA offensive schemes & tactics. And in the other hand, NBA players are not prepared for FIBA physicality and tougher defense schemes. In my opinion, Steve Kerr is not the trainer to face those challenges. He already lost the last worlds, and was a member of the unsuccessful Popovich era. In my opinion, USA team wil get a bronce medal. The times when it was enough to have the most skill team to win, is part of the past.

If he doesn’t know if it was before or after Jaylens tweets then that means it was after. Which also means he didn’t contact his agent until after the decision was already made public and he received the backlash for it. Bad business.

@willingexile33742 ай бұрын
They picked the team for their resumes and not for fit, and to appease the American public following the embarrassment of the FIBA WC in 2023. The politics of it is that the older players like LeBron, Curry, and Durant have to receive some carte blanche. The players themselves have to make the attitude adjustment that they cannot out-talent the competition or treat the Olympics like an All-Star game. The world has caught up in preparation and coaching. The American talent pool for basketball is the deepest and will continue at its level for a long time, but how that talent is developed for competition is the question.
