It's been a little over a year and a half since my last GrapheneOS video so I figured it was time for an update.

some people don't customize your wallpaper because apps can use it to fingerprint you and the black wallpaper is the default so its easier to fit in with it.

Flashed my pixel 8 the other day. Complete flop was certain device bricked. All hope was lost. Plugged device into my computer attempted one more time and got lucky! Would not do it again but I'm also not going back to stock android. Just happy I'm not out a brand new device. Security and privacy is key although battery life is also way better.

Did the same thing today on a new 8a ,didn't release grafine didn't have astable release yet for it ,the mistake I made was using the phone screen to reboot and not the web installer,

Have you noticed the search text is off center in the app drawer? It was so irritating i used nova launcher.

@@James_r4276I wish they would fix it lol. Im not sure if nova launcher defeats the purpose of it being private or not because I know launchers can track you. I would just use the default one if that search bar wasnt ruined.

Have you used Android auto since they supported it? Im having trouble using the google assistant while something is running like google maps or music. Makes it difficult to use while driving.

I don't use android auto, I just connect via Bluetooth for audio and I use offline maps on my phone for navigation.

I don't use those features. Most of the Google proprietary software features require permissions I don't want to give.

its BEST you update Android FIRST. This updates the firmware on the phone. Firmware and OS are not the same.

Verizon content transfer for text messages, and a usb-c flash drive for everything else.

So I'm curious, why do people run graphene os? I could see if it was for like de-googling a phone, but given there are still Google apps on the phone such as play store, so that's why I was curious and asking.

I do have a Google Pixel 8 Pro, and run different profiles (you can switch within 3 seconds) for big tech companies, like a Maps profile which contains Gmaps and Waze, banking profile, social media profile and a main profile with Proton mail etc. GrapheneOS gives you the option to limit network options too if you dont want to seperate all of your apps. Everything runs very smooth, I can highly recommend the change.

Only pixel phones abide by the security perimeters the OS requires. GrapheneOS is not funded or supported by Google.
