Glad you got the box set my friend. Tintin is pretty popular in India. Egmont publication there came out with Hardcover copies of these books at the size of those softcovers. I think Tintin in Congo is exclusively published by Casterman and you are better off getting it from overseas

Tintin was a surprise. Loved to see it here. These books were very influential in getting me to read and love comics as a kid. Along with Asterix of course. Hope you have the Asterix box set or get it someday.

There's a lot of things before Lemire's run on Moon Night... There's the Bendis, Ellis, Bunn run's. I love all of them. And after Lemire there's one more final run from "the guy I don't remember right now", but the art is by Jacen Burrows. Nice haul.

Sold pretty much all my Dreamwave Transformers floppies a few years ago. Now have an itch to do some custom binds including the latter day issues that have never been collected. Mapped out a Cybertron book with War Within and Micromasters, Earth book with G1, Summer Special, MTMTE and the orphaned single issue of TF/Joe vol 2 in the back and a Unicron book with Armada, Armada MTMTE and Energon. Fortunately there's no crossovers and only a few one shots to place and for the most part the comics will be cheap to reacquire.

I love Tintin too. Almost bought the SC slipcase, but eventually chose the red HC case. The text is on the quite small end, but still readable. Just FYI, you can buy Congo standalone HC from Amazon UK for about $16, I bought just a little over $10.

If you talk to the person at CheapGraphicNovels again, will you ask them about the Superman Batman Omnibus? I "special ordered" it from them and last I heard from them they have no idea when or if its coming. It still hasnt hit IST yet, so im not sure what even happened with that book. Looks like it might be getting listed next week though. Just want to know if I should try and cancel my order from CGN.

I have the deluxe BMB Moon Knight and it’s the Lemire I’m you got I’m trying to track down lol Also in the beginning of the Flash by Mark Waid there were some issues of early work from Travis Charest! I remember cuz I had those issues and had Travis sign them seeing as he was from Edmonton Ab where I live :) ABSOLUTE PREACHER is amazing and the perfect way to own the series I have them all as well ❤️

Ow Man, Moon Knight by Lemire is incredible 😆 i like Bendis run, but definitely prefer Lemire and Ellis run. Max Bemis is really cool too. And i need that she-hulk omni, such a great character and run!

I saw the Amazing Fantasy Omnibus is coming back into print and it got me thinking- If you have both of the Stan and Jack Monsterbus and both of the Stan and Steve Masters of Suspense Omnibus as well as the Amazing Spiderman Omnibus 1, is there really a point to getting it? I dont have the Stan and Steve books yet but I have the others so I think I'll end up passing on the book if its just double dipping.

Hi Omar, thanks for another video! Hergé is pronounced "HE-R-J-AY" "HE" like in hell "R" roll up that R * "J" like in journey without the "d" "AY" like in day, but there is a subtle difference to the sound of é * You don't have to roll up the R with the tip of your tongue. The french R is not the same as the spanish R, but some french people roll up the R and it is fine as well.

That Tintin box set looks awesome! Hergé is pronounced "air-zhay." It's the pen name of Tintin creator Georges Remi. He took his initials and reversed them to RG, which would be pronounced "air-zhay" in French. Then he made up the name Hergé based on that.

Oh my God Moon Knight by Jeff Lemire that was such a great story. I don't even know how the series did not get nominated for the award it blew me away. It was such a great character breakdown of who Moon Knight. In a way that I really surprised no one else thought of it. This is got to be one of the best words that he said it was so good

Romano Scarpa did some fine work on Mickey Mouse. Haven't read them since I was a kid but The Phantom Blot's Double Mystery is a pretty clever little thing as far as I recall.

Omar, have you read much Romano Scarpa from Italy yet? His Mickey tales are pretty good, he also did plenty of Duck stories. He created Bridgitta MacBridge (?), Scrooge's other love interest from Italian comics.

Do you think they will do a Flash by Geoff Johns Book 7, that collects his brief run on Barry before Flashpoint, maybe they will collect FP in that and the Secret files story? Would be nice to have that collected for that sweet Manapul Art!

But I ended up getting it a couple of weeks ago for 50 dollars. Have you caved in yet with the Wonder Woman by Azzarello and Chiang? Canto so good There's a lot of potential with that particular story. And a very happy it continuing This could actually be a great idea for a movie if you have the great team behind it. Because the story for me feels like a Wizard of Oz story but it's like if mostly focused on the Tin Man and if he had an entire race and then they were slaves but even their slavers are slaves in their own way that's like slavery of the mind everything it even the twists and turns within the story this Blow Me Away

I told you to buy Tintin and I was waiting. Very happy to see you finally getting the complete set. Without wasting time, start reading. Some books are very controversial as it was written during colonization. Blacks are shown as slaves in some books especially in older editions. That's why Congo is not included especially in the US. It's available in India in this box set. Also, the Congo book showed animal abuse in the form of hunting for pleasure. Tintin in America also very controversial showing a black slave standing in front of a big five- star hotel. That panel was changed in later editions. Also, you will get some anti -Muslim art panels where two Muslim men get kicked in the butt while praying Namaz (Tintin black gold). But this is the world's best comics book series dealing with political espionage, war, and smuggling. And the last book " Alph Art" which you are so excited about as a sketchbook it's not a sketchbook. :) Its Hege's unfinished work, he died while making Alph Art; so the book contains bits and pieces of his work. An unofficial fan-made Alph Artbook is available on the internet which completes the story, though not in a good way. Pronounced as RG or HER-ZHAY

I had to quickly grab my Blue Tin Tin Box Set to check if i had 'Congo" and its actually there!! I remember doing some research after, where the First printing of the (blue) box set had all the volumes. Only after that, they decided NOT to print the Congo story. So if you can find the First printing of the Blue Box Set, you will have all the stories. Also, had to open it up just to see if i can read them again, and luckily it still not an issue xD *Phew

I find it very weird to not include "Tintin au Congo" in that boxset, especially if the point of the boxset is to have it complete. Of course it's the product of its time, and yes, the view of Hergé are well-known, but sweeping it under the rug is certainly not a viable solution.

If you really like Tintin then this size is not best format to really appreciate the genius of Georges Rémi (Hergé). Shame the publisher (Egmont) deliberatly choose to ignore two of the most illustrative works of the character namely Tintin in the land of the Soviets and Tintin in Congo.

Are they really frowned upon in Scandinavia? The only 'strict continuity' is really just barks/rosa. Other creators, for example william van horn does his own thing like uncle rumpus. I've always felt scarpa's style felt like a blend of barks and murry since he uses the same style on both duck and mouse tales.

It's very odd that the Congo Tin Tin story is not included, when the Soviets story is! The "land of the Soviets" is totaly ridiculous and much much worse than Congo (it's also the first Tin Tin adventure). Maybe it's OK to mock Russians and not Africans? I don't know :P
