Thank you for sharing this! I have a SCAG Tiger Cat 52. Another guy mentioned that he loves the Adv. Shoot Sys. But that he mounted it about 1/4” too far away from the deck, and now gets grass blowing up in his face. Do you have any mounting tips for the Adv. Shoot? Thank you 👊

Have you seen the extended handle for the Advanced Chute for Standers? Definitely more reachable but It seems to be a bit high, I was thinking I could use a pipe Bender to mold it perfectly the way to fit and work best for the Gravely Pro Stance 52.

I enjoyed your comparison and I agree that the foot pedal is the way to go on a stander. In addition to not having to remove your hand from the controls to reach for a handle, with the Grass Flap there is no handle to potentially get in the way of obstacles like trees with branches hanging close to the ground or shrubbery. When I purchased my 52" Ferris Z2 in 2018, I had the dealer install the Grass Flap recommended for the Z2. Unfortunately, the mechanic did a very poor job of mounting the flap itself so it doesn't completely close at either of the fore and aft contact positions on the discharge chute. There are large gaps at both the fore position and at the angle at the aft position so a significant amount grass freely 'escapes' the closed flap. I see in your video that yours appears to be properly mounted on the Z3 and that there is complete closure at both positions. Because the cable at the foot control just broke this week, I am considering completely replacing my Grass Flap with a new one that I will install myself. Therefore, I'd very much appreciate if you would share exactly what you did in the mounting process to get the proper aft angle and to get good closure contact at all points against the discharge chute on your Z3. Thanks for all the informative videos you/ve posted. I've found many to be applicable to my operations.

@@SouthernStyleLawnCare I just watched your video on the Green Guard. Which model are you using on the Z3, the HD, Slim, or Original. I see Green Guard suggests the Slim for for Ferris mowers including the Z series. Also, would you recommend the rubber or aluminum flap? I'm thinking rubber based on the need to bend the flap to match the angle of the deck. Where on the control panel did you mount the switch?
@SouthernStyleLawnCare Жыл бұрын
@@peterprobst6307 i use the HD with rubber flap on my ferris and my scags. They have alot of no drill mounts too. Use code southernstyle for 10% off. I always make sure mine is flush with outside and mark the holes then drill out. All chute blocks will have some blow out but just part of it.
@peterprobst6307 Жыл бұрын
@@SouthernStyleLawnCare Thanks for the discount code. Since I've already got holes for the Grass Flap mount, I'm considering the no drill option as well as the dust blocker. Where on your Ferris standers did you mount the control switch?

I have 3 JD stand ons and they are great but am considering the Ferris and Exmark Staris. Any feedback on Ferris vs JD would be helpful. Ferris is obviously faster but what about cut quality?
@SouthernStyleLawnCare4 жыл бұрын
For a 61" or 52" you cant beat the ferris Z3x IMO. For a 48 and below I would stick with deere. The ferris z1 platform is way too small. Doesnt gold hills and uncomfortable for your feet. Cut quality is great in ferris.

Which one of your mowers do you like better. Is one any better than the other in wet grass.
@SouthernStyleLawnCare5 жыл бұрын
Deere is better in wet grass. Love both mowers equally. For a 61 you can beat the ferris. For a 48 you cant beat the deere. Wouldnt change either. I dont like the 60 deere and I dont like the 48 ferris

I have had the ACS on my 48 ZG for years and no issues. I got a ZD1211 60" with some electric one that is garbage but has a foot pedal that I really like. I am thinking of getting a grassflap for the ZD1211. Does the flap stay fully closed when mowing? It doesnt blow open at all does it? Thanks for the video, just the comparison I was looking for.
@SouthernStyleLawnCare4 жыл бұрын
When you hit thick leaves it will blow open sometimes. Not alot but sometimes.
@emccallum10124 жыл бұрын
@@SouthernStyleLawnCare Thank you. I think the little vents on the ACS help to relieve pressure. I just cant decide which would be better. I do a lot of mulching leaves with my ZD and the ACS really has no parts to break. But, the foot pedal may be more convenient and can be left partially open which is nice. Like I said very disappointed in the power chute system....blows open all the time. Thanks again
