I was at this show. Back in the day when the mad hatter was still alive. Great doses and music. I miss it all. Peace to everyone!!! The world was more simple. We lost that on the way to now.

Setlist is a thing of beauty. Everyone is in HIGH spirits and all a little loose and perfectly wobbly. Friend of the devil is a little tricky for billy and Mickey at first. Haha. Laid back California dead. The Greek is magical and the dead is still in the air.

Feel very fortunate to have been at The Greek from 1986-1989. A memorable start to my touring years. I miss Jerry and the energy they used to bring to their shows in the late 80's. Unfortunately I was at Red Rocks in 1987 when the Mad Hatter died

We were there too. Never knew that was his handle , but it didn’t take long to figure out who he was. My ex wife and I saw him everywhere from coast to coast north to south at shows from 83 til that Red Rocks run in 87. He’s been at peace a long time now. 87 was a great year. The band was juiced with Jerry 30somethin pounds lighter. That Hampton Run kicking off Spring tour and philly and laguna seca , Boston 4 the 4th w Mr Tambourine man, flying in a small plane full of heads to Roanoke, our only Red Rocks shows, Cap Center, MSG, and finishing up in Oakland as per usual. Got 23 shows that year. Only mistake was being good and listening to GD management and not showing up in Telluride…where there was a glut of available tickets! Oh well. 88 was basically a repeat, with Florida and the Greek thrown in and Colorado out. Then came our first baby and the show numbers went way down. It was ok though. My first show was 8/19/80 Chicago Uptown and my daughter’s first was at the Greek 8/19/89. Magic 🪄!! Long love the GD. WE were indeed blessed.

Kevin - do u know that you are missing a y at the end of your sur name here - Shaughness is what shows. unless there is indeed a new spelling i have not seen before. it was on my first fake ID bought in Times square in 1985, and I picked my dorm proctor's last name for it - Shaughnessy. My father kept it for posterity a while....i think it cost me $8. And the IGA market in the town of New Milford CT only asked me for it once or twice. a case of Meister Brau went for around ten bucks then....Smirnoff a bit more.

Wow! This was my first show! First time I've revisited it since then. It being my first, I didn't know many of the songs, and I didn't at the time know things like how rare a 1st set ending China-Rider was, or a set 2 starting with Saint! (And of course Phil singing!) This is a total treat. Thanks for uploading! I ended up that night sleeping in a hammock at a friend's house in El Cerrito and around 1 AM a deer walked up to where I was. And of course, I told it all about this show!

Surprisingly good show considering how out of control Jerry was at the time w drugs and that so many of their ‘86 shows were pretty bad. He fell into his coma about 2 weeks after this show. His first show after he recovered on 12/15/86 is SENSATIONAL especially the Candyman and of course the Touch of Gray opener. It’s easily one of their best “later years” shows
