Seeing July of 90 stuff makes me so sad knowing these are Brent's final days. He brought something to the band that i dont think could truly be put into words.

"Wharf Rat appeared steadily in the repertoire since its debut in February 1971 until 1995, and was always a very welcome song to appear in the 'ballad slot' in many second sets. It first appeared commercially on Skull & Roses, and is one of the few Grateful Dead originals for which there is no recorded studio version, with the Skull & Roses rendition being the definitive version." - David Lemieux

@@davidjacuk4286 Definitely NOT a Deadhead, lol! If around at the time, probably wouldn't even know about The Dead, or Dead Tour, Spring, Summer, and Fall, East Coast shows(starting and ending on The West Coast). Unless they showed up in your city/town, or maybe friends told you about. Very little in the public eye! A "Rolling Stone" Mag story every 3-4 years.. The biggest, coolest thing around, and most didn't know of em'! If Jerry F'd up the whole song, then I don't think anyone could play it "right", lol!👍🎶💜🙏😘💨💨💨

Take the one verse for Instance. Half of my life,I spend doing time, for some other fuckers crime. Fill in your own blanks. Anything in your life be diff, better or worse, based on something, someone else did? This isn't the song you want to accommodate yourself with the dead on. This is a song for weathered heads.
