I feel like my bike control is so much better with a flat bar than drops. I probably couldn't keep up with myself on a mountain bike but then maybe I just need to ride drop bars more off road.

The drop bars they put on gravel bikes nowadays are quite a bit wider than what you will find on most road bikes. Plus the way they flare out makes it much easier to one finger brake.
