In a first, The UAE has introduced a Federal Corporate tax. The tax-haven expects businesses to start paying tax starting June, 2023. Will this force corporates to move out of Dubai? Palki Sharma brings you a report.

Oil revenue is going down. Houthis are attacking and hence defence budget is needed . So they need to tax corporate.

UAE still offers best regional business solutions for all nationalities and by introducing golden residence visa it's becoming more and more attractive hence increase of houses prices....... @Bablu Bablu The taxes only for businesses that makes over 375K worth of profit, which means it doesn't gonna effect small businesses or newly developed ones.... It's here for the big ones that make huge amount of profit yet they take it outside of the country and invest there..... This is a good step to more sustainable future, it's not like UAE lacks money nor it's not as if UAE taxes worse than highly developed countries like in Europe..... Currently UAE economy is the 4th biggest in the region while being the smallest country of the top 5! It's even higher than Egypt and almost on par with Saudi and Turkey! Don't underestimate UAE's economy, they are far from struggling, infact one of least struggling countries since COVID hence inflation of its economy in 2021, the houses prices sky rocketing in Abudhabi for a reason!

It won't impact him much buddy... Hez has few investments and KZbin channel. Hez working with UAE Govt; Dubai Govt... Talking about his earnings, He is not doing it from any one source but from multiple work. He provides cyber security in Dubai Police. That's why hez getting millions like thousands... It coz of his Hard work, he didn't do scam or eat money like dirty politicians..... whom people still support.

After corporate tax, next in line will be salary tax then health tax( those who are not healthy and have disease ) then animal pet tax, Motor Tax, Individual Tax, Employee performance Tax .....etc. All these Taxes will implemented in GCC before or by 2030. then Expats says inshallah goodbye and goodluck for their future.

i think that's a bit of an over reaction. Its just so the wealthy have to pay taxes witch in my opinion the rich and wealthy should not be able to avoid paying taxes in whatever state they are in.

UAE is asking Corporations to pay tax as a weapon of influence to garner support to stop military shelling of their Oil facilities. If they have to be bombed, they will not cover as a tax shelter for Countries doing business in the UAE.

Oil industry is certainly not going to be a future cash machine, so all other options soon will be tried to sustain such an expensive empire, and options will be extended including taxes on individuals as well and nothing wrong on that to sustain a nation.

You are talking about VAT( Indirect Tax), the video mentions income tax which is levied by govt on income of entities and the burden of income tax cannot be shifted to the end consumers as it is direct form of taxation.

This makes sense. Seen from my city of Geneva it actually makes Dubai a more serious competitor. At zero corporate tax they were obviously a tax haven and at the top of the list for tax evasion. We are at 14% almost in line with the international minimum target.

I believe corporate taxes can be offset significantly if they invest in R&D . They might want industries to start doing research and development in their country which will usher new high specialising jobs and universities. Good move.

Not really. Governments are corrupt and waste money. Every nation on the planet is bankrupt because of government spending. People should own more of their money, because people create wealth. The government doesn't create wealth.

@@kubabooba548 Wrong. All governments are bankrupt and owe money to wealthy bankers. Because the bankers supply the money that makes the government work and they charge interest that can never be repaid. This means they need more money to continue to function, so they go to the bankers for another loan, the bankers then have to print more money which devalues the money already in the system causing inflation. The government use human corporations as collateral.

Development? There's enough empty buildings in the UAE already. The taxes will be directed to sustain what is already there. There needs to be major infrastructure on sewage, water treatment and extending the metro service.

The U.A.E adventure of Tax or Revenue collection is due to falling of petroleum revenue particularly the invention of electric vehicles. In future the exporting petrol will be less than before that why U.A.E is introduce tax collection and maintenance of city and building and roads and infrastructure .

Freezone corporations remain tax-free. The new corporate tax applies only to mainland corporations (i.e. those doing business with locals in the UAE, like a retail outlet).

What do you mean to say? Taxes are a necessity. Govt don't necessarily love taxes - it is a necessity to run the country. And it is the duty of every individual to pay taxes to the govt for the well being of country and citizens. It is ALSO the duty of citizens to elect a proper govt that uses the tax money in a proper way and not misuse it.

There is no money laundering in UAE approved by govt. As per money laundering it happens in most countries including india. so shud india also come under FATF ?
