I 100% agree with you sir. I used to be a shopping addict and buy things in general after seeing ads on the internet and I felt that there was totally nothing to stop this addiction, but however I found a solution to this even though it seems almost nothing it is really powerful. I started using browsers like Brave which was built to block ads be it youtube ads or normal site ads. Now, things are very much better here. I ended up saving a lot of money rather than if I used normal Google chrome and ended up buying courses, clothes and devices which were totally worthless. I feel this way can help people who can get lured by ads to not spend a penny. Not trying to promote this browser, but since I can relate to this and since I was a victim too so I am sharing this as I feel it might help someone out there. Plus it is very much safer in terms of privacy too making it much better. Not a big thing I know but just saying. Peace

I was once returning from office on 31st of December night I could see most of the pubs and bars queued with people eager to find entry and buy drinks and also long queue in front of bakery to buy cakes. As my cab moved on, we stopped at a traffic signal and I could see a family with a little girl a boy and a mother sitting on the footpath eating their dinner. I could see any happiness or joy of the new year on their face. While the most of the world spends on drinks, pubs and cakes in the name of senseless new year celebration, many people struggle for even a meal. If the new year didn't bring in the change in the life of these poor and homeless people, then the new year is not worth the celebration. New year to me means writing wishes on a greeting card and sharing it with my friends and loved ones which I used to do during my childhood and when I hear my loved one say it was a nice card and thanks for the card, that was the happiest new year for me. I've stopped spending in the name of celebrating new year. Same goes to any other festivals. Say for eg, instead of spending thousands of rupees on burning fireworks, but food or clothes for the needy, especially the children and the women without home. They deserve to celebrate the festival as much as we do. Be the light on their life!

I use these rules for cloths: 12 shirts, 7 for normal day use, 5 in spare for trips and such. 7 pairs of pants. 4 for normal day use. And 3 in spare for extra rainy weeks. While shoes are more difficult. If you use dress shoes, you need at least 2 pairs. Because they need to breath at least 1, after being worn, or they risk breaking early. So I have at the moment 3 pairs. To me that is too few, but I threw out some shoes recently, and I am looking for new pairs. 1 pair of dress shoes, 1 pair of running shoes, and 1 pair of winter shoes. In terms of socks and underwear, I have for 2 weeks of each. And replace them around every 3-4 year. Because you never wear more than 5-7 favourite shirts, anything above that, will not be used often. With pants you might have 3-5 favourite pairs, again, anything above not being worn often. Shoes, 3 pairs is what normal people use. And then special shoes on the side, winter shoes, summer shoes, dress shoes, and so on. I always donate my old cloth, and by limiting amounts of cloth, I increase the quality of my cloth, I try to stay away from cheap Chinese made cloth. And that is difficult.

@Harshit Sharma but if the source is discredited message can always be set aside. Moreover unlike Bible or hadith these are not guide books with commandments. These are as the writers of this book said, Iti + hasa. As it happened. Teachings, though i agree are important , but what the confusion is on events not teaching. Panchtantra also has good teachings. But it is not called itihas, nor work of Kalidasa. Moreover teaching is never the matter of contention. Its event's occurance.

Utsav Singh You asked a good question to which ‘Mr. Not so Fabulous’ had no answer to so . Here’s my take on this Ramayan is we read is a story told through Sita who first didn’t witness a lot of things after she was kidnapped by Ravana . So we might consider her a third person narrating the story and the author while writing a story are known to ‘exaggerate’ things beyond reality to make the story more engaging ( Bal Narendra for example ) So that explains your question.
@dr.shobhitsharma62724 жыл бұрын

When are we going to let go of the word "MYTHOLOGY"?
@CrazyFictions4 жыл бұрын
Why should we?
@jcd7764 жыл бұрын
@@CrazyFictions mythology assumes that it is FALSE. Etymologically it was used by early Christians to insult Greek and Roman polytheists by telling that their culture and worship was a MYTH (False). You must never use "myth" for your own culture.
@CrazyFictions4 жыл бұрын
@@jcd776 So what should we replace the word with ? if 'History' how can you credible it?
@CrazyFictions4 жыл бұрын
Before defining the term "mythology" one needs to define the meaning of the word "myth". The word itself comes from the Greek "mythos" which originally meant "speech" or "discourse" but which later came to mean "fable" or "legend". The word "myth" is defined as a story of forgotten or vague origin, basically religious or supernatural in nature, which seeks to explain or rationalize one or more aspects of the world or a society. I found this on Quora. Doesn't this mean that mythology is the right term?
@santhoshreddy47934 жыл бұрын
@@CrazyFictions Mythology - a collection of stories that depict religious and cultural tradition. If you believe that they are just some stories that we based our life on, then you must also believe the God exists. But if you know that God exists, then they are not myths. They would be a principle that you would follow in your life. Likewise, many people don't believe in God; they know that there is an entity called God. So the word Myth is out of the window. When we discuss about Greeks and their terms we should also acknowledge that millions of those terms could be referenced back to our own country and culture. For example measure of Pi, zodiac signs(by the way the Greek zodiac is just shit! They couldn't even copy it right) and many more. So Greeks ain't no falling stars that you can follow! They were just able to copy things better, and our scholars didn't think of publications. And you know how our future was changed after the 12th century.

@cg89394 жыл бұрын
@Le Fantôme nobody's gonna find it for you. You can do it yourself. Or remain unaware. Why doesn't the west call Christian mythology? Jesus mythology? If you're an atheist then cool atheists don't believe in religion. It's okay if any Non-Hindu calls it mythology because they don't believe. But as a Hindu you shouldn't because it would mean you dont believe in Ram. As Simple as that. I'm not gonna go behead someone who calls it a myth.😂
@hardaatsinghbaath74754 жыл бұрын
@@cg8939 We don't know a thing about Jesus or Muhammed, so they probably did not exist. Same with Ramayan, because there is no proof except fr geographical features, sky and cities. It doesn't make it real, as arrows that multiply when thrown are pretty much impossible. Believing that Ram existed doesn't make you a Hindu, following his steps make you a Hindu. I am not a Hindu, but more Hindu than you.
@cg89394 жыл бұрын
@@hardaatsinghbaath7475 mythology is a widely held but false belief or idea. According to you there is no substantial evidence to prove lord Ram's existence. So it's similar to Schrödinger's cat, there is no definite answer. Therefore you can't give it a definite label of existence or non-existence. So it would be wrong to call it a myth because you will be downright rejecting it's existence without any counter proof to support the non-existence.
@hardaatsinghbaath74754 жыл бұрын
@@cg8939 hmmm, well, in Ramayan and Mahabharat, there are several exaggerated claims, like Lord Hanuman held a mountain, demons with powers, arrows that multiply etc. idk it seems pretty impossible. And Schrodinger cat experiment is a thought experiment that is used to give us an idea of the probabilistic world of Quantum Mechanics, and as we reach to human sizes, it's probabilistic nature becomes almost negligible. So comparing a thought experiment is stupid. And mythology is still a better term than "history", as the word History means that we have overwhelming records that it happened.
