@@jonjeskie5234 By reducing low labor jobs and giving them all to robots, not only are you increasing the rate of the unemployed, but having everyone work in the goods and service sector and get lucrative careers is not effective since there's not enough demand in many industries for there to be growth and increase in the amount of people getting lucrative degrees increase, making highly skilled employees dispensible , which keeps wages stagnant whilst there is increase in cost of living. Furthermore having robots do everything just fuels the low birth rate crisis even more, which can create just as much sociological problems for japan as economic.

In Terminator at least, the reason the computer attacked was that it got frightened when engineers tried to shut it down. So to avoid being murdered it killed the human support staff and then went after the entire human race by launching the United States' nuclear arsenal at Russia and China. And it sent everything, bombers, SLBMs, and ICBMs. (Subs and bombers were also automated at least in the original timeline). Likewise, Russia and China fired back. Then came the first terminators, programmed to hunt down and murder every human they found. Be careful how you treat your friends, even if they are an AI.

I'm married to a Japanese for the last 36 years, they are some of the most racist people as a society. Polite but racist at their core. Just like the desire to not have foreign workers and to keep non Japanese out of their country. You might be married to one or friends, but they truly never think of you as equal to a Japanese. My wife never has anything negative to say about Japan in any way or form. Except she does not like how accepted it is for men to cheat on their wives in Japan. It is not hard for me to see why they like robots so much and get the companionship from a machine that we would get from a dog or other pet. Their values are very different than the western or most other countries. But, hey it is their choice, so good luck.

I would juuust like to point out that at 3:28 this story show was 'Evangelion' NOT Gundam. There is a biiiig difference here as is quite insulting to both series considering there different styles both in designs, stories of no similarity and music. Gundam came first, while it is generally excepted that Evangelion is the series that saved anime in bringing it new film and brought the story and many others to the rest of the world even more. It also just finished its final film last year which has been basically a story now 25+ years in the making. I am veeery disappointed that a channel like WION which is known across the would would make such a huge mistake like this which should really be corrected to be fare and respectful to both parties.

Disabled people need robots. I have been laid up in my bed those four days unable to walk sometimes….or even sit up. Could not get to my meds and was laying there wishing I had a service robot to help me. What gets me is that they can manufacture robots that dance really cheaply but no manufacturer is focusing on making an inexpensive service robot for disabled people.

Japan is coming close to the *sci-fi legacy* of *surrogate robottic* allies, working side to side with humans, only depected in sci-fi cartoons, including on the west, like *George Jets* cartoon. The reason less than 10% of these legacy vision, never made it in most west side nations globally, is due to finance, technology is more accessible to mid class, wealthly and privilage. In other nations, Ai & Mechs unfortunatly competed *against humans* in labor games, of this already cruel govern gods with this Currency Collosal, of Persue Pay or Persih, tournament WALL deal, let alone bid with the Bank Beasts. Turning the notion of Ai & robots to a *worse nightmare* in the west nations., in Japan, its a syncronize relationship between Mankind and Ai Mechs.

Utter nonsense. I am a citizen resident of Japan. I am writing this from Tokyo. If someone came to me and said, "I will give you $10,000 if you can show me a robot doing anything useful other than industrial robots inside factories," I could not do it. I travel widely in not just Tokyo but Japan at large. Your chances of seeing a humanoid "robot" are about the same as your chances of seeing a flying saucer. What clueless reporters call "humanoid robots" are actually large, remote controlled toys. Asimo, for example, is operated by a crew of three people. It is not capable of doing any useful work. Moreover, Honda has stopped development of Asimo.

@@fir8550 I live in Canada, where it's usually easy to access wifi, either as a "guest" or by asking to use a local business's wifi. In Japan, getting wifi when I was out and about was very hard, which is not great as a tourist, and indeed fixing this lack of WiFi infrastructure was meant to be one of the preparations for the last Olympics. The typical workaround for tourists in Japan is to use pocket WiFi that you pay for. To clarify, my point was that Japan is very advanced in some ways (some of its trains stations are absolutely amazing feats of architecture), but is behind in some ways as well.

But Japan is more united than places like the states where they do that(the "united" part is ironic). Japan achieves something in Osaka, or Kyoto, or Saitama. And they call it a Japanese achievement. America is one of the few that segregate success to the specific area it happened. Like a Texan success is Texan not american, an Orlando achievement is stated as such and not an american achievement. The rest of us don't do that.
