Np and I agree. There is some information that is slightly inaccurate about being able to decide if arty is on-call or not. I'll be uploading a play through of the Pivot Point DLC in a day or two and it should cover some of it.

What a great tutorial. It helped a lot, especially on force composition screen, which is not clear and easy to read and manage, until someone get enough experience with it. Mechanics are presented well and tight. Waiting for some more stuff. I'm discovering different mechanics of this great game and it is always helpful to hear some experienced person advices. I've played a lot of this game but I always used the artillery company commander as the spotter and put the platoon commanders with their arty squads . But I can't give direct orders with the company commanders line of sight that way. Using the platoon commanders spotters is just something I never thought of doing. Thanks

So, just to be clear, off-map arty is off the Operation Phase map entirely? The guns aren't in other battlegroups further back on the map? Hey! GREAT VIDEO! Thank you SO MUCH! I'm so glad that a small handful of great Mius Front gamers are doing new videos on this interesting and alluring battle simulator. I can understand why some people don't like it at first, because they are expecting it to be like your typical RTS, which it is most definitely NOT. 😉 I can't say I blame them...too much. 😜 If they just took a step back, they'd realize what it is they are working with and go on to discover the rich and engaging experience it provides. Thanks again! SUBBED! 😎🤘☮

The way it works today - yes, if a gun is available via the spotter’s off-map Arty functionality, it’s not “physically “ on the operational map at the moment. What changed about 9 month ago (just around when this video came out?) is that some on-map guns can be moved into reserve and used via the off-map functionality.

You made a mistake when describing the creeping barrage. They will not spread out the ammunition over the vertical fire points. The guns will shift up one lane after each gun has fired 5 times. So if you draw a box with 3 vertical lines and assign 10 rounds per gun, then the last line will not be fired upon at all.
@TheWarSimmer2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tonci. I believe I may end up taking this video down eventually, as there are a couple inaccuracies. The devs change things so often that most of these end up being a bit out of date every couple of months anyway. I've watched several of your vids and they're great. I'm hoping people like you can help the community grow. I have a playthrough of Pivot Point coming up that will be available Saturday.

Great video, lots of good info, generally well explained. Question: If I have an on-call artillery unit available, can I still do pre-planned artillery against points of the map where I dont have line of sight? I have not been able to make it work. Even while plotting the fire mission during deployment, once the battle starts, I'll get the message that the spotter failed to spot the spotting rounds. So does this mean that Cmd type batteries can ONLY do observed fire?
@TheWarSimmer2 жыл бұрын
That has been my experience as well
@Tom_Quixote2 жыл бұрын
@@TheWarSimmer Yes, it seems an oversight that if you CAN call artillery on demand, you HAVE to do it that way. Anyway I don't find scheduled support very useful - it's pretty impossible to guess exactly where the enemy will deploy.

@TheWarSimmer2 жыл бұрын
In general, you don't have to worry about it too much, and I haven't myself in years. But from what I can recall (check the manual to be sure): Phone emblem- orders being relayed via wire Blue waves- orders being transmitted down Yellow waves- orders being received from above Three dots- verbal/comms The main one to look for is the phone emblem. But you can also confirm that wire links have been established by seeing arrows in the command hierarchy, or "link established" icon (phone) on left of screen when a unit is selected.

For the HE rounds what does the Immediate Action button do? (Not to be confused with the Immediately fire designator). It's always off by default when you start a battle. Thanks!
@arkadiy93212 жыл бұрын
It’s a fuse type selection. Immediate setting gives a better fragmentation as the shell does not bury into the ground and explodes upon hitting the surface.

I would like to ask if there is any way to disable or reduce close air support? It just destroys my units and I cant call my own .
@arkadiy9321 Жыл бұрын
Air support is operation-specific (i.e. not dynamic, with the exception of post ww2 engagements). The time and place where the planes will appear is set according to the historical data (to a degree it's actually available)
@historypro1366 Жыл бұрын
@@arkadiy9321 So depending on the operation determins if there is air support? Is there a way to see which operations have air support and which have not ? Thanks for the reply

@@historypro1366 yes - if you go to the forces list (where you see every platoon in the OOB), the air support will be at the very top. For example, check Stepanovka-Marinovka operation of the main game for either side. It'll show the turn when the planes arrive (but not the place)
