In that same vein of thought, I am leaning towards the Starks having a dark secret that will be revealed in season 8. I'm thinking that the current WW's and N'sK are former Starks or were made that way by the Starks and Children. It's said that the CoT worship the Greenseer priests similar to Bran, so it's not too far off to think they either contributed to making the WW's and also in defeating them, possibly betraying them by taking the Night's Queen/Nissa Nissa captive and she's in the crypts. So long as a Stark was in Winterfell the NK couldn't get her back. When there wasn't a Stark in Winterfell it broke that magic thus giving hope to the NK to win her back.

Maybe the ice magic just causes the babies to grow really fast. We just don't know enough about how it works. Another possibility is that since you guys mentioned the White Walkers taking boys from other tribes, that Craster's son's do grow at a more normal rate, and the ones we are seeing are from the more northern tribes and been collected over millennia.

I want to hear you guys talk about Cersei's fate, the possibility of the Night King being Azor Ahai (AND the Last Hero, in one), and Cersei being his Nissa Nissa, and the possibility that the histories and songs were wrong about the 13th Lord Commander. I think he was a Stark, but I think HE is the man the CotF tied to the Weirwood tree and made him the first White Walker. I think once they did that, he went and turned his 12 companions into White Walkers, and that THEY are the lieutenants, or guards, we've seen now. That's why they look so old. I don't think an ice woman made "the Night's King," I think he tried to turn his human wife into a White Walker to be with him, but it didn't work. I think Cersei is going to be his Night's Queen. And check this out: I think that he originally called himself the NIGHT'S king, not the Night King, just like GRRM said in the book. He was a man of the Night's Watch, as the 13th Lord Commander, but why would they be called the Night's Watch, unless they were watching the night? And why would they watch the night? Maybe because the original Others only came at night, or maybe they were watching the night sky for the specific red comet that would bring about the return of the dragons? I think that last statement could be accurate, because, as a Greenseer, the Night's King knew that eventually a red comet would appear in the sky and that it would herald the return of dragons, and he knew that as soon as that happened, he could start marching South towards the wall, and could wait out the arrival of a dragon so he could use it to break down the wall. Basically, the Night's King was a member of the Night's Watch, who became the 13th Lord Commander. Now that leads me to another piece of history that could be wrong. I think he was a member of the Night's Watch, and after the CotF made him a White Walker, he went back to the Night Fort, took the position as the 13th Lord Commander, and turned the previous 12 Lord Commanders into his lieutenants. Then maybe they started sacrificing humans at the Weirwood trees and trying to make hybrid human/White Walkers. But it didn't work! And he was so pissed off that he went back to Winterfell, to try to get help, but all the Starks refused to help him, named themselves The Lords of Winter, and went to war with him. Or, and this is a good one, maybe the Starks at Winterfell sealed up the Lords of Winter in the crypts so that the Night's King couldn't raise them from thread and make them fight for him! Oooooh! I love that! And that is when Bran the Builder built the wall with the help of the CotF: when the Night's King started killing all the humans and CotF in sight because he was pissed, the CotF had to get bran the Builder to build the wall to keep the Night's King locked away. So everything frickin' backfired on the CotF. The sought out a Greenseeing Stark, thinking he was Azor Ahai (aka, The Last Hero), turned him into the first White Walker to destroy the Andals or First Men that were cutting down all their Weirwood trees and killing the CotF, but he didn't want to be their slave, so he decided to wage war on them instead! That's when the Wall was built. Before they built the wall, there was the Night Fort, and it had been built to stop the Andals from killing the First Men. The men who ran the Night Fort were called Lord Commanders. Maybe they didn't start being called The Night's Watch until after the Night's King took over. Or maybe they were already the Night's Watch and that's why uncalled himself the Night's King. The original Night's Watch could've been created to watch throughout the night to defend the Night Fort from attacks by the Andals. When the Wall was built, all of the First Men that lived north of the wall got stuck and became known as The Wildlings over time. Before the Night's King was turned, there was summer in the land. After he was turned, and as he got angrier and angrier over the years, he started bringing the Winter. The Winter became the Long Night because it lasted for so long. Before the Wall was built Winterfell had a different name. Maybe it was just a small keep. But the Night King showed up, tried to reanimate the Lords of Winter, the Starks locked up their dead in the crypts by placing swords across their laps, then they somehow defeated the Night's King, made him retreat to the Lands of Always Winter, and renamed their keep Winterfell, because that's where the first Long Winter, aka the Long Night, fell. And that is why the Starks say, "Winter is coming. Remember: Winter is coming." And there must always be a Stark in Winterfell because the Night's King is a Stark and only a Stark had the powers to defeat him USING ICE! That's why the Stark sword is called Ice: because it was forged using CotF magic and Valyrian steel. Not blood magic; CotF magic. The same magic that helped make the Wall out of ice. The North swore to always remember that it was there that the Long Night first came, and it was the Starks who defeated the Night's King Phew! I'm done. I hope at least one person comments on this. I sure didn't write all that for my health, LOL!

@grayarea I made a guitar tablature for the song Mhysa by Ramin Djawadi, I wasn’t sure what the lyrics were so I reached out to David Peterson and he very promptly responded to me and let me know that even though he had supplied the appropriate language and dialect the song would’ve been lyricised with, Ramin Djawadi preferred to use non-sense syllabic singing for the song. He was very polite and forth coming with information, so if you wanted to reach out to him and ask for the full range of language he developed for the white walkers, perhaps certain key words would be very informative and reveal tremendous secrets, and I have a feeling he might actually provide it to you!

Crasster gave only his son's. Never daughter's, so the recent White walkers are only men....As far as we know anyway. When the Night King touches the baby, the eyes change. The baby is now one of them and needs almost nothing. It will grow from Ice magic, probably in some cave, and at an incredibly fast rate. That LML therory doesn't work and is completely unnecessary. There's no evidence to support it. I 100% agree about the John Danny thing. No where are we given any indication that John has to kill Danny like Nissa Nissa. The sword is already forged. Danny being Azorah High, maybe, why not, she does indeed fit that prophecy. I also 100% agree about that Stark being connected through their history with the Children and the White walkers. I think personally that John and Danny are the song of ice and fire together. Nice collaborative video. Thanks. Peace.

Was listening to a Disputed Lands video the other day and it spoke a lot about broken swords, and it just made me prick my ears up just then when you both said Lightbringer is already forged. George seems to 💗 his broken sword symbolism, so perhaps LB *was* broken at some stage, and *does* now have to be re-forged, a-la' re-forging-sword symbolism. These two podcasts were soooooo well done, Gray and Gemma. As well as the plot points and questions that were asked and answered brilliantly and knowledgeably from two of my favorite content creators of which I am proud to be a a Patron. My very favorite part or question that was covered, gave me goosebumps when I heard both of your answers and speculation that has always plagued my collective thoughts concerning this topic, that was exactly as I felt needed the answers that you both hit dead on. And that being why Dan and Dave haven’t been given all the answers to that I feel is George’s lack of telling the whole tie in of the Starks, Night King or White Walkers, with the cannon of the crypts of Winterfell that we haven’t yet been able to explore and my reason for this is quite simply put, as this was personally GRRM’s doing so that the HBO story was not the “big reveal” that George is saving to be put in his next book, “The Winds of Winter”. To me I think it makes sense from an author whose main passion is storytelling at which he excels. I have had this way of reasoning ever since Dan and Dave did a rapid, rip through of Season 7 with George, at the time, saying that they weren’t seeking out his help and the rumor being that they were getting ready to be the show runners or producers on another property which I later read was Star Wars, which may or may not be coming to fruition. But D&D were not keeping it a secret, reported in one of the magazines with the same format of Entertainment news, that they just wanted to rap up GOT and move on. Unbelievable to say the least and who would blame George for not giving them any more than he had to give the viewers, to produce a satisfying ending on the best television show of all time!! HBO wouldn’t have them drop their very precious ending to fans and their reputation for bringing the best television to the smaller screen. I don’t know if other subscribers to your channel would agree with me, but if it’s something that either one of you smart and enjoyable creators or anyone in the chats would let me know if my theory or “our” theories, are something that has crossed the minds of book readers, especially, would agree with or disagree with, I would love to see if anyone reading this comment, feels the same and why or why not. I’m a big girl, I would love to hear your comments, either “for” or “against” my opinion in this post. I also agree that the Night King wants revenge, and also wants to be relieved of his NK duties. Maybe he's after Bran or the Cotf to reverse it after he takes revenge and wreaks havoc on the world. There's also a small possibility he wants a new Night Queen, but noone beats the one you love if he has a way to be with her again, or get HER in particular back.🖤

And yes, Jon has already stabbed Dany with his "sword" and created light bringer😉.. Their child, if that's where we're going with the story. GRRM is a bit of a perv, and refers to a man's "sword" many times as being his genitals and intercourse. We've been following the NK since the beginning though, and Jon and Dany are tied to him as well as Bran, so this could very well end up being his story in the finale.

What if the true battle is within Bran? What if he has to choose between become the three-eyed raven or the becoming the Night King. Chose the Three-eye raven the humans win, choose the Night King and the others win. I never felt that the Night King tried to kill Bran when he grabbed him. great co-lab! thank you both for this. since i've been following both of your channels for a couple of months now, i really appreciate gemmas psychological and lyrical approach mixed with greys gut instincts and what feels like a good knowledge of human nature by experience. my suggestions for future colaborations: -is hodor coming back? -who is melisandre? -which characters hide their true identity? -what does varys really want? -is rhaegar alive? -why did the show cut off most of the dorne-parts? (ariane, sarella/alleras/the death of arys oakheart/myrcellas ear/quentyn, for example) -why did the faceless men train aryato be such a badass assasin, while later then jaquen (in the show, at least) let her go with a smile? -please also discuss the possibility of elia being okay with rhaegar and lyana because the dornish freely enjoy their sexuality. rhaegar didn't kidnap lyana (as we've learnt), history is written by the victorious side... what new doors would this premise open up? best wishes for your future, mia ps: within this video, grey asked, why the night king only takes boys and suggested a while before this, that they can't reproduce themselves. if they can't reproduce themself, it would be the smartest thing to let craster keep the girlsfor himself, to have more breeding machines for the one whose reproduction they depend on.

Before I watch, I'm going to share what I've learned by listening to Gemma's (Secrets of the Citadel) chapter-by-chapter discussions. She had made some very good points, and I agree with them. Cersei is going to become either the new leader of the White Walkers, or she's going to join the NK by becoming his NQ. Gemma points out things like how Robert says, "the Others take my wife," and how Cersei is described as being cold as ice in her demeanor. She says a lot of other things, too, but i can't remember them all. This makes perfect sense, at least for the book storyline. Here's an example of why I think she will be needed and used as a new leader or mother of the White Walkers: she is very protective of her children and there are at least over 80 white walker children in the Lands of Always Winter that need to be guided or taken care of or protected. Crastet had 100 sons before he was killed, and the NK got all of them but 1 (Gilly's son). We have never seen anywhere CLOSE to 80 plus adult White Walkers, so the babies most likely haven't grown up yet. The NK's 12 lieutenants, or guards might be the oldest of Craster's sons. Some of them were killed (1 by Sam, 1 by Berric (I think it was him that killed 1), 2 by Jon, and maybe another 1), but he has at least 7 left. The lieutenants even look like Craster if you look at them closely enough. And isn't Craster part Stark? Maybe that's why It had to be HIS sons that were taken. There has to be something special about Craster for the NK to want just his sons. Maybe he has King's blood? Maybe the Kings' of Winter blood? I see Cersei being turned into a female White Walker, maybe the Night Queen. Maybe she will even be Nissa Nissa; I think the NK is Azor Ahai. People, please tell me what you think of my ideas. I didn't steal these from anyone. I don't read theories. I come up with ideas of my own, based on videos I watch and listen to. For all I know, someone else may have come up with these exact ideas and put them out there ad legitimate theories. If so, I'm not aware of them. I'm saying this because someone accused me of trying to pass off someone else's known theory as my own. That was not the case. Like I said, I don't read theories online. All I do is watch and listen to KZbinrs videos about GoT.

On the topic of White Walkers, Talking Thrones convinced me with his analysis of the WW/Others' connection to House Stark. I think the main event is at the Winterfell crypts, and the Night King wants Bran and Jon b/c of their Stark blood- and Jon's additional dragon/fire magic connection from Rhaegar. OR, maybe the NK wants to retire and this is his way of recruiting his replacement? LMAO! SUGGESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION, 3 things I'm sure of: *1)* Nobody is Azor Ahai, that prophecy has been a red herring from the start. Even if they do it in the show, I don't think GRRM will play out a literal "Prince/ss who was promised" in the books. His writing continually alludes to people having to bear personal responsibility for their own actions, good or bad, and the idea of a "savior of all" doesn't fit with that. *2)* Nobody is gonna end up on the Iron Throne. After everything in the story points to how the existing system doesn't work, it's not logical that "changing the players will change the game" is the outcome in mind. After all, everyone who has been on the Iron Throne has thought they were the "right" person for the job, and none were. No matter how much we love Jon and Daenerys, it doesn't seem like GRRM's style to say that you fix a problem by doing the same thing you were always doing, only with someone different doing it. *3)* The idea that the Westeros situation will get resolved through war is missing the point of everything GRRM has been saying about war, both through his interviews and the books themselves. If anything, they will all go to war only to have to find out the hard way that they better come up with a different solution or it's lights-out for everyone. -UNLESS- the entire message is to show how history just keeps repeating... in which case, there will be a big savior who comes along to kill the Night King, the good guys will beat the bad guys, the "next guy" on the Iron Throne will appear to solve all the problems (that the Iron Throne system caused), someone somewhere will start scheming to take over, and the cycle begins again. But we don't need GOT for that, all we have to do is look around. Side note, Rhaegar Targaryen is not a hero in this story. He was a selfish ass for what he did and his (and Lyanna's) decisions got his wife, kids, and thousands of others killed no matter how prophecy-driven they may or may not have been.

Maybe the Great Other itself is a female most nature references are female Mother nature Gaia all female. I agree Nissa Nissa may have been the Night Queen or someone else from history. But if she no longer exists then these male offerings to a female deity make sense. I posted a culture theory a while back that they may be cocooned and they emerge grown. This is why they get blue eyes to ready the flesh for transformation. GRRM describes them as beautiful and butterflies go from caterpillar to beautiful butterflies. Hive minds are bug like and cocoons would be a possibility. But that is just my own little thought cus I like babies and hope they were not just sacrificed...And I like butterflies too lol

I’ve notice in the show that the white walkers have nights watch clothing I don’t think they were ever children as white walkers they look like the loyal generals of the night king when he was in the nights watch and he turned them to b by his side we still haven’t seen a white walker village clearly they have a home the place we all seen them take the baby and I’ve seen the white walkers without there amor so where do they keep there armor when there not using them and the guy who ends up being the night king (just in the show) is the worg king the sacrifice that made the night king seems to b around the time the worg king would’ve been beaten by the Stark’s 🤔🤔🤔

I think the Night king is gonna make Cercei the Night Queen. Or another Night Queen. In a scene where we think she will die he or a "kidnapped child of the forest" plunges dragonglass into her heart or something. And she joins him as the Night Queen
