Just starting my GRE study journey and I am so happy I found this! I kept getting these questions wrong. But not for much longer! Thanks! I kept looking for a number answer to get my answer when all I needed was a simplified version of the statement instead.

Thanks a lot. All four questions can be solved by representing alphabets with numbers. Question 1. Say s = -1 and t = -1, since 0 is greater than s and t. r must be greater than s and t since r +s which is -1 +t which is also -1 >1. So, r is greater than 1. Plugin numbers for remaining questions as well

for questions like 3 & 4 since there is only one variable x therefore simply put a dummy value in both A and B side and see which would result greater that would be ur answer. eg 3 TRICK: for x/(x+1) where x>1(lets put 2 which is greater then 1) = 2/(2+1)=2/3 (in decimal) for -x/(1-x) where x>1(lets put 2 which is greater then 1) = -2/(1-2) = -1/-1 = 1 (non decimal) so B is greater then A eg 4 TRICK: similary in 1/x put x= 1( coz its greater then 0) we get ans: 1 similary in (x+1)/x^2 put x=1(coz its greater then 0) we get (1+1)/1^2 so, we get ans: 2 next method for eg 4 A : 1/x B: (x+1)/x^2 = (x/x^2 )+ (1/x^2) = (1/x ) + (1/x^2) so, here 1/x is added to something which obviously means its greater then A (since A: 1/x only)

Thanks for the class I love it, l have a question. On #3 example Please how did you multiply Quantity B to have x/x-1? How is 1/x+1 greater than 1/x-1? How do we know when to use each of these steps? What can we use to identify the steps to use? #4 example How did you arrive at Quantity A as x and Quantity B as x+1 and how is x

In the 1st que....as s+t1....as s+t always negative and the value of r isn't spacify....so it can be +ve,0 or -ve...it could be anything....so if we put any +ve integer....r+s+t>1....if we put r as -ve integer so addition of 2 -ve integers ( as r is -ve and s+t is also -ve) will always -ve...so r+s+t is not greater than 1....so why not option D) correct?

@saranyachitturi

By the equate method, you have to multiply the quantity of A with x on whole fraction which will give you x/x2. Cancel the denominators which leaves a result of x
