The bass player in one of the bands for which I play guitar is a Mark Bass artist. In addition to having a few of their amps he has a few of their Italian-made basses. He loves them (and so do I). Recently, though, he got sent at least one of their Chinese-made basses and he's used it a bunch of his gigs. It's a surprisingly good instrument... sounds great, plays great and it weighs almost nothing.

Absolutely adore CiCI. She's so similar to my daughter in terms of personality. Daughter isn't a musician but is an elite athlete. There's that easy confidence combined with modesty in regards to that awesome talent.

The cici box has been designed: it’s a footrest that classical guitarists use. Probably in stock right now at Anderton’s. 🤘🏻

I’m used to guitar builders presenting amps but not amp builders presenting guitars. The only time I can think of when I saw that was when the first musician I worked with from 1994 to 1997 briefly had a Marshall Strat-style guitar. I heard of the Ampeg Baby Bass, but I never saw one in person (yet). When CICI’s holding that salmon-finish bass, it looks big enough for its own postal code. She definitely knows how to play it.

dear bass companies. Please stop making P and Jazz body shapes
@edwardjons86844 ай бұрын
It works and it’s what sells. Blame the players, not the makers. It’s always riskier to launch a new range that strays from the classic shapes because people won’t buy it. But you know this.
@BetoxSound4 ай бұрын
@@edwardjons8684 I beg to differ. Its the same as metal guitars being mainly black, its stuck on a circle... "people only buy X so thats what we build.... We only buy X because its the only thing available".... I worked for a metal guitar company (pointy 7/8 strings) and our most popular color was bright pink and light blue. Black was at the bottom of the list, thats becasue we didnt play stereotypes and/or listened to stores or a board of directors but agree, the players are at fault... but also theres very little options out there for non Fender shapes (but with Fender traditional style pickups) that are not boutique/ custom . Im just tired to see that everytime theres a new brand/model its always a jazz or a P bass. Not even a "our take on the model", nope, jsut a direct copy/paste of them I feel like Guitars manage to fully step out from Fender shapes, but basses always are stuck on them.... yet when they do step out basses are waaaay more experimental, rather than guitars mostly stay pretty close to traditional shapes without being one. There is always risk, but seems bass players are way happier to take bigger risk than guitars, yet guitars are the ones that are much more available in non-Fender shapes
