In this episode of Great Moments in Seattle Seahawks history we took a look back at the day the Seahawks took on the Kanasas City Chiefs, in Arrowhead stadium. On this late November game in 1990, Dave was forced to endure a beating, getting sacked nine times, seven of them by Chief great Derrick Thomas. Bruised and battered, Dave survived, and pulled himself together, to bring about a miraculous last second finish.

Agreed, I don't know why the Hawks can't do the retro uni's. It seems like the freakin' Bears roll out four uniform variations a season, but we have to wait for some reason for our alternate. Still don't get why they don't do it. Not like the retros wouldn't sell.

They finally did this year but the helmets now have all sorts of vents and steps that it doesn't look as impressive. The smooth round helmets looked better but I'm sure the new ones are far more advanced in many ways. I do like the new uniforms better but not by much.

Who else loved how well Krieg played in 1984, in the "Air Knox" offense that was implemented because of Curt Warner being injured... Krieg was able to throw for 32 TDs and roughly 3700 yards! Go 'Hawks!!!!!

Mud. Bone was a fabulous qb..and a dam tuff one ..he was out once for 6 weeks in '88 with seperated shoulder. After his 5th or 6th blind side sack that game..his only significant time loss as a hawk..carried the offense on his back for 9 seasons..no line. No receivers..no backs (except in 85.86 and 87) and only 86 was warner truly elite dam shame..unlike wilson dave wooda had the balls to call time out and say what..why the fuck we aint gonna run the ball..or changed the play at the line..i long for the days of real men playing real 🏈

Dave obviously loved the game because he just kept playing and it was remarkable how he stayed pretty much free from serious injury being rather slight physically and getting close to an NFL record number of sacks. The Seahawks were very exciting most of time during his term with Chuck.

He had to be hurting by the end of that game, Michael, no doubt. And that was no easy throw at the end, especially knowing Thomas was on his way to bring some more pain after the throw. The performance was the definition of toughness. Thanks so much for watching!

I almost turned this game off at halftime. But I stuck with it. I remember the NBC announcer watching the play, and afterword just falling into laughter. It was great. One quick fix. Dave went to Milton not colgate. Milton went out of business about, 1980.

Sorry for the late response, Robert. I nearly did the same thing. There seemed nothing more unstoppable than Derrick Thomas, and remember being so mad at the time too, because even my young mind was annoyed by first round pick Andy Heck just getting turnstile'd. Sorry about the error on the college mention, you're completely right, and I will fix on the remastered version. Thanks for watching!

Most people don’t even know Seattle won this game. It’s only ever talked about as the game Thomas had 7 sacks. He needed 8 to win.
@TheHawksNest12thman
@TheHawksNest12thman 4 жыл бұрын
Exactly, John. It's remembered from a national perspective as the 7-sack Derrick Thomas game, but I just always thought it should have been more remembered for that final play, and Krieg's toughness to withstand that beating, get out of that potential 8th sack to make a spectacular throw. Thanks for watching.

Milton college alumni replaced Jom Zorn and 1983 took them to the playoffs and carrer years 1984 with 32 td along 1985 27 td passes and 1984 playoff victory over rival Los Angeles Raiders 14-7 and 406 yes vs Denver Broncos 1984 and favorite receiver Steve Largent.

Of course, after this AMAZING FINISH, 12's were forced to endure that savage kick to the balls that was drafting (and playing) Dan McGwire. 1991 wasn't exactly a banner year for great QB prospects, with studs like Danny boy, Todd Marinovich, Scott Zolak, or Doug Pederson. Sadly, Seattle didn't do the smart thing (trade it) with their poorly positioned, mid-round, 1st pick. See, the QB choices for 1991 did contain a player with a great arm. He was a project player, and he would need a great QB coach, but the potential for greatness was there! I'm talking about a little known gunslinger from Southern Mississippi, who was drafted by the Falcons in the second round, with the sixth pick (33rd overall). Maybe someone's heard of this guy, Brett Favre, before? Seattle definitely could've traded their 1st round pick, for the Falcons' pick, and then some... Oh, what might have been possible, during those miserable mediocre 1990's Seahawks seasons... Go 'Hawks!!!!

Great video and I hate to be that asshole that fact checks , but what else would I do with my only talent “Seahawk historical knowledge” Krieg is from Milton college and this game was from the 1990 season the first official post Largent season. I remember it well because they finished 9-7 and it would be another almost decade until they had a record that good Holmgren first year.

@@TheHawksNest12thman Yes your correct, I got my favorite KC games confused. On December 27, 1987, Gayle Sierens became the first woman to ever call play-by-play of an NFL game when she was in the booth for NBC's broadcast of the Seattle Seahawks-Kansas City Chiefs.
