Just such a wonderful event to be apart of. Atmosphere, landmarks and the finish location. I took part and I PB’d yesterday amidst the heat. 1:35:06 my official time. Although it’s was absolute havoc getting away from South Shields post race given the torrential rain, thunderstorms & floods.

took me 3 hours to get back into Newcastle - would've been quicker if I'd just run all the way back!

Loving it! Favourite moments were Fordy almost taking Eddie Howe’s hand clean off with the high 5 and Simon’s legendary marking system for the bottles not being the right bottles 😂

Well done Chris and team. Great to see you all at the start and say Hi. What a hot one that was!!! I had a good start but after a few miles I was melting so backed right off and finished safe and sound. Thanks for the vid and see you again next year hopefully. Cheers

The best video ♥Loved it still even with the crazy heat, mile 9 nearly stopped me but managed to recover nicely to actually enjoy the best last mile of any run on the planet! Agree on those baggage buses, still 20/10

What a race! Loved it yesterday and great to do the shake out with you all on Saturday too. It was so hot yesterday then the biblical rain after was awful 😂. Was disappointed that Elvis had left the building, my friend was gutted about not seeing him. Unlike Simon I thought the water bottles were great, much better than cups or screw tops ones. Can't wait to do it again next year 😀

I went out for lunch in South Shields afterwards and I came out the restaurant about half 3 in the middle of the torrential downpour. As soon as that happened I was stuck for about 2 and half hours in South Shields.

Great video, brought it all back to me, first time running yesterday and despite a 3hour wait to get out the car park at the end I would 100% do it again and it’s definitely a 10/10 from me. The supporters were epic!

done GNR a couple times back in 2018 and 2019, they say it's not hilly, but the hills are long so you don't realise and not great in the heat I bet. Loved the crowds there though never sen such a great response to a half, amazing people!!!!

The race was great, but if you start further back in the start pens it takes absolutely forever to get started. Took me over an hour to cross the start line once the race started and for over half of that time I was standing completely still.

I've never done the GNR but know a few who have. They say to experience the atmosphere, crowds, just the whole occasion is unbeatable. But as an actual running experience it's pretty terrible.

Loved it 😍 but fences doubled in size from last year which didn’t like and obviously not there fault but the flash floods and 3.5 hours in car park trying to get out not good😢 Question - crowds better at GNR or london Marathon and do you get goodies on course like oranges and ice pops at London 😊 walked it 25mins quicker than walked it last year 3.39 so fingers crossed for London under 8 hours ❤
