@@mariannesyrett7759 my father was in a hospital bed in a field hospital 1 day before his 18th birthday on 11/11/1918. He survived and returned home 4 months later. He learnt the futility of war at a very young age. The war was fought to protect the British Empire’s delusions of grandeur and desire to dominate Europe, Russia and the Middle East. They are still going on with the same destructive cause today! It’s unbelievable. Stop waging war and let people live without constant interference! Stop trying to impose your view of the world and your political system on others! It just kills peoples and destroys countries and their wealth. In

@@mariannesyrett7759 I was moved but to anger at the constant reminder of the failures of British Empire. By the way- I had two great uncles at Gallipoli, one on each side. My mothers uncle was with the Australian Light Horse and my father’s uncle was a Colonel with the Austrian Army allied with the Turks. The irony of war- millions die needlessly.

I am an American. My uncle is 103 years old. He.was born in Czechoslovakia, moved to the U.S. and signed up to fight in WW II. He wanted to fight to protect his new country, as well as, to retaliate against Hitler for invading and taking over his homeland of Czechoslovakia. He fought and was wounded during the invasion of Normandy and had participated in every D Day celebration in Normandy up until this present year. He did participate in a local D Day celebration this year at home. God Bless your Uncle. I spent 16 years working in Veterans’ Long Term Care. The Greatest Generation.❤️ Today is Veterans’ Day in the USA, and Remembrance Day in Canada and the UK. At 11-11-11 General John Pershing, Woodrow Wilson and the 116,000 American troops who died fighting fascism in WWI, will officially spin in their graves. The democracy they fought for has been handed to a dictatorial mad man, and his evil sycophants, who in turn will hand an independent Nation State, Ukraine, over to another mad man, Putin. “Take up our quarrel with the foe. To you, from failing hands we throw the torch - be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die we shall not sleep - though poppies grow in Flander’s fields.” ~ In Flanders’ Fields, by Canadian physician, Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, May 3, 1915. So beautiful. Get so emotional seeing all these young people disciplined. Then in the street young people that are causing all kind of problems.💖

I was there at the Albert Hall when I was serving in 2000. Today I shall be on parade with fellow veterans at my local cenotaph in Weymouth. When the main service is over we march down to the American memorial and hold another service. Many US soldiers sailed from Weymouth on D Day. Lest we forget.

Despite the best efforts of past and present politicians to shrink our armed forces, our military still put on a 1st class show. Thanks to you, the lads and lasses of our forces for this wonderful remembrance event. Continuing best wishes from Cornwall👍👍👍👍

What a stain the present government is on the memory of the brave, self-sacrificing people of Britain. Oh Lord, how they need a Churchill now ❤ Deepest admiration and respect from South Africa

What always gets me is when the families of service people enter the hall. So moving and how brave those people are, who have lost their loved ones.
