What a beautiful Tudor home. I live in Canada which is a young country ( 153 years old). To be able to visit history back hundreds of years would be a dream come true. Great Britain is truly worth living in. "Another Place" is another gem . Thanks for sharing.

Live in Liverpool, so have visited this area countless times. Anthony Gormley once commented that the installation was about emigration. Sadness at leaving, but hope for a brighter future in another place A common theory for the installation remaining in Liverpool was the city's role in the slave trade. The statues are often viewed as depicting rows of slaves, looking at the sea that brought them to these lands, and dreaming of another place. How true that is, I really don't know. But it's a theory shared by quite a few people Like most art, it can mean what you want it to mean

I’ve never seen such a beautiful Tudor house as that. The blue-purple hydrangeas were my favourite. You looked very pretty against them, Kirsten. The beach, the sea and the striking art installation will be on my list of things to see in England, one day. I’m glad you had a nice outing. What a nice adventure. Speke Hall has a life size painting of the “Child of Hale”, he was extremely tall and his grave is a stones throw away in the village of Hale, he was 9”3” tall so legend goes. Another gorgeous video. Cheers, Julian

The color of the hydrangea flowers depend on the soil. Acidic or alkaline will give you a pink or a blue. Sister Jay

Ah Liverpool. Beautiful place, I’ve been a few times with my husband. He loves the Beatles and I love Billy Fury. In fact on a visit to Paul McCartney’s childhood home it turned out that his mum would have dried lavender all around the house. His dad had plants all over the garden. When there the lady looking after the place let me have a small cutting. It now grows beautifully in my garden in fact, it’s enormous 😂😂. Of course Liverpool offers more than the Beatles as you know and the Cathedral is stunning. ❤️

Hello. In 1975 I saw my first movie about the wives of Henry the 8th. I fell in love with all things England which happens to be where most of my ancestors are from. I could never have imagined today’s internet where I could study, relax, and watch programs about England. My dream has always been to go to England but health programs prevent me from doing so. Your programs are absolutely delightful. The way that you present England to the world is fascinating. I love everything from giving people tours of lovely homes, gardens and shops and I really enjoy watching the tours of your home and the way that you are carefully crafting its 18th century foundations and atmosphere of Victorian beauty. If those are residential homes in the background, the constant figures on the shore would be hard to get used to.😳 The gardens were beautiful, but such a sad story.
