Cracking video and challenge, well done to both of you. I actually like how you did it 'real world' like needing to stop for fuel and a sneaky wee bacon butty too. If only Mrs E hadn't stopped to take the photos near the end, it would have been SO close. Interesting to hear about Trans Penine cancellations too - phew, I had to get one the other day, glad it was running! I love how you put this together, well done.

That was a really fun race, but it was so close!!! It shows that both methods of travel have their own advantages and disadvantages.

I do like TransPennine Express and their trains including the Class 185 Desiro DMU, Class 802 Nova 1 IET AT300, Class 397 Nova 2 Civity and the Class 68+Mk5A Nova 3.

I planned to do a comparison between First Class and Standard on the Nova 2 - but the leg I booked in First was cancelled (I got moved onto an Avanti so I decided not to do the video even though I did do the return leg in Standard. Will try and to this again sometime! ☺️

Pretty nice video there Roger! For my "other channel" me and a mate have just done a Ryanair vs Megabus trip. It wasn't pretty, but we're looking forward to putting it together. This video was an interesting one and it was without doubt a very close call!

I used a 390 Birmingham new st to Lancaster last week and I wasn't that fussed but you haveing mentioned about them being redone with new seating I had a new one lol. The bace of the new seats are tielted back slightly so when ur sat there ur backside & yourself is slightly leaned back into the seat.

The new Pendolino seats in Standard are the same as the Lumo seats and that built in recline makes a big difference. Thanks for watching. 😀
