In November 2008 I was supposed to go offshore fishing in Charleston, but the weather was horrible so we couldn't head out. Instead, we went and fished from the shore at Sullivan's Islanf in front of Ft. Moultrie. One of my friends started screaming because he claimed he saw a huge shark break the surface just off shore and he said it was a great white. We didn't think he was lying but we were sure he had misidentified a dolphin, or a smaller shark. He never waivers from his story. After sewing how close the GW's come the th Carolina shores through the Ocearch site, I have no doubt he saw a GW back in 2008.

You know the thing about sharks? They have black eyes, lifeless eyes, like a dolls eye. - Captain Quint - Jaws.

Thank you for tagging and releasing these beautiful creatures! Are you in touch with Ocearch by any chance? Love your work! Thanks for preserving this disappearing species in the world, especially one that is greatly misunderstood; as I too frequent the waters of HHI. We must get together!

Thanks for the comments. I used to tag for ocearch, but quit working with them when they wanted to come here and haul them out of the water. No reason for that, we tag them in the water for 100% survival rate.

I'd love to speak with you. Research wise, although they have great scientists and financial backing, I too am concerned with these practices. Thank you for your opinion! As I stated, absolutely love your work, and I do hope to get in touch soon.. Katie

In white sharks, the bottoms are always exposed, they dont retract. The uppers are always in the gums until he lunges forward to bite or show them off as a defense.

This comment reminds me of a certain Seinfeld episode about a famous marine biologist named George Costanza 🤣

Lol. There are great whites. They migrate up the coast, and can be found off of Hilton head.
