Those researchers in florida don't know what they're talking about. I live in Socal and Los Angeles waters are technically a breeding ground for Great Whites. There are plenty of drone videos from long beach to Malibu where Great Whites are literally just swimming right before where the waves come down and break. I don't see any reason why someone with a strong rod, good reel with ALOT of line on it couldn't pull a shark to shore. People do it here for other sharks.

You're missing the point. Great Whites are NOT common here in Pensacola's waters. Very rare in fact. We have mostly hammer heads, some tiger sharks. But Great Whites don't usually come this far into the Gulf.

@@dorie4780 there have been great whites in the Atlantic for centuries. Since the early 1900s people have spotted Great Whites In The Atlantic and even recently In decent numbers in the Carolinas. Why wouldn't they show up in Florida of all places?

@@JoyZofSoRRoW For one reason, the Gulf's waters are more shallow than the Atlantic. Great Whites prefer deeper water. For another, Great Whites usually eat seals. We don't have seals here in the Gulf. Usually when a Great White gets spotted "in the Gulf," it's near the Keys, which would make more sense since they are close to the Atlantic. But Great Whites aren't known for swimming this far up the Gulf Stream.

@@dorie4780 great whites here have been seen just hanging around the wave break line. Here that water can be as low as 5 to 8ft sometimes and they will hang out just at the end of where the waves rise high enough to start crashing down. Several videos here on youtube, look up malibu white sharks, have proven this. At best the water near these places is 20ft deep and in high tide. Great Whites will go into shallow waters. They're juveniles tend to hug the coastlines until they're grown enough to go into deeper water. And yes they eat seals, it's they're favorite food but they will hunt other things for food as well like whales, otters and even rays. The younger whites hear have no issues eating stingrays and if I remember right there are stingrays, some bigs ones even, in Florida so its not out of the ordinary for them to substitute their diets with something else.

@@JoyZofSoRRoW Yes, but again, Great Whites are not known for being in the waters here in the Panhandle. It's extremely rare. That's why the people in this video were shocked they caught one. It's just not something that happens here.
