My goodness, did anyone else also wish to actually “hear” one of these K Yairi guitars played? I legitimately don’t understand how you can make a video like this and not have someone play something to showcase all the great work put into it. Two attempts at Oasis doesn’t count…

I'm a proud owner of an Alvarez Yairi DYM60HD. It's quite literally the best guitar I've played. It wasn't cheap by any means ($3k), but the specs of this guitar would be double that if it was a Martin or Taylor. I've never played a guitar like it, and I live by Sweetwater so I play a lot of guitars.

Did you buy it on sweet water? I seen they have Alvarez Yairi guitars but unsure if thats the one

The Japanese are on another level. Don’t believe me… go anywhere in Japan, and see for yourselves the pride they have for their work.

Bought a lightly-used Yairi WY-1 in the 90s - never bought another acoustic guitar since and I don't want to. I've beat it up a bit but I love the sound and how it plays!

Japanese craftsmanship is out of this world. I once talked to a staff to a friend at Yamaha music store. He said their factory in Japan was hit bad by the Tsunami, so they have to transfer production to Indonesia. But people would rather buy 2nd hand Yamaha made in Japan rather than brand new made in Indonesia. Seriously, Japanese people are of different breed. Respect.

Loved it! But the great big story video structure centered on storytelling was much better than this new kind of reporting!

Amazing story. Who wouldn't want a beautiful personalized guitar created with such attention to detail? Would have loved to actually hear it being played.

no matter how much time, effort, placebo or bullshit that goes into selling a guitar. Someone is going to pick up a guitar and either love it or go NEXT and try something else.

Such amazing craft and skill! It would have been nice, though, if the work the people at Yairi is doing didn't all get undercut by inane cutaway gags. Those bits from the narrator made it feel like Great Big Story was making fun of what Yairi's process.

Brits have been using donut/doughnut as a slang term for years (Gordon Ramsay seems to like using it).

I'm happy to learn GBS back, but this video was dissapointing. It felt amateur, the bloke couldn't play more than a D chord. I hope the other new videos are more in the style we came to love from GBS.
