Things I love about the JHS channel: interviews make me smile (not like goofy smile just kind of half grin but with a little head shake) the nature and the legit love of making cool things whether it be music or gear. Lastly, the lack of snobbery. Reviewing pedals that are budget or clones and acknowledging the idea that when something sounds good it must be good. I love the fact that you use both your heart and your head in making content.

My can’t live without pedal is the “Afterneath”. I’ve written, and recorded all of my original songs using that pedal with my Taylor Acoustic. Sometimes subtle and sometimes not so subtlety. I also use it of course with electric how it was meant to be used. Now I stack reverbs, and use it in parts where I want the reverb to freeze and hang in the air on swells, and such. I’ve gotten more use out of that pedal than any other I own, and it’s a key piece of what defines my sound. So thank you Earthquaker!!! Incredible job making pedals that do more than just the norm.
@christophernoia51974 жыл бұрын
Caleb Tyler Shepherd it’s one of those pedals for me too. I have the original issue and have used it extensively after it released. Great for synths, keyboards, guitars, recording, and reamping. The afterneath, deluxe memory boy, and grey box dod250 are ones I can’t go without. Everything else depends on my mood and what I’m going for.

A most riveting masterpiece of documental archive, here preserved. Much as Dr. Phil would have atttacked it, at least at the outset. Dr. Phil was put in his room where he belongs, thereafter. Brave candor in regard to early musical tastes, assure us of receiving the honest low down from a humble professor . The tap tempo suggestion should be considered. Dats about all da foggin' lights of British I can thank of. Won't somebody out dere turn the regenerations down, I got dis big 'ol box canyon upstairs I'm workin with. But seriously folks, a learned peer review of other stuff is just the personificaton of greatness on so many levels. Where else in America do you hear such respect from peers. For that matter, I don't recall Mr Spacely to suggest a Coswell cog. A++ indeed. Think I'll buy me both a Earthquaker device and a JHS pedal

My first EQD pedal was the v.1 of the Afterneath reverb. I was experiencing a steep learning curve with that one so i called Akron and Jamie answered the phone and my questions. We talked for about 40 minutes. I ended up buying a Hoof fuzz and a sweatshirt too. Jamie was telling me about an idea involving his mother's front loading clothes washer and the chugging churning sound it made and how that would make a great pedal, especially when you hit the button and it goes into the spin cycle. You gotta love this kind of creative madness. Peace.

Subdecay has a flanger, the Starlight, with multiple options in changing the LFO, which take it beyond a Flanger. Same with their Phasers, and the Tremcoder is a ridiculously adjustable Tremolo. They do a lot of weird stuff like Earthquaker, and their analog Trem, the Vagabond is just beautiful, with an envelope attack knob, that works off of picking dynamics.

I like it everytime you talk about Earthquaker and to have Jamie kinda have to open up a bit, while still be snarky and brutally honest was great. I never saw this when you first presented it, I own the Organizer and wanted it beyond all other similars for several reasons but one of the silliest was its a Earthquaker Pedal and I gotta have one. They really supported a band I know called Haunted summer here in LA by giving them a ton of pedals to use and they do, ALL OF THEM, and that is where i heard what I liked and then I just started with what I could afford. I am so glad for that hapenstance honestly it changed a lot of how I think about pedals/hands and feet/pedals on tables/ playing "the pedal" Thank you Josh for being you and thank you Jaime and his wife for being them too. We couldn't have done a lot of it without you folks

Great episode. I own 8 EQD pedals: Spires, Westwood, Sea Machine, Tone Job, Astral Destiny, Afterneath, Ghost Echo and Space Spiral. I would be majorly reluctant to remove the Spires and Westwood from my board. So those two are my favorite. Now, I purchased a JHS Clover last week. My God what the Clover has done to my board. The Clover and the Westwood together...just wow. I use the Tone Job as the first pedal the mod section of my board. This gives me eq and boost for mod, delay and verb but also gives great back end tonal control over my fuzz & drive. So the Tone Job is pretty rad too. The Afterneath needs a mention too. Pretty extraordinary verb. I have found control of this pedal in turning most of the knobs down b4 noon. It's stunning. I love EQD pedals. I love the Clover too. Thank you for making it!

You’re a legit super good guy, Josh, and your attitude toward other manufacturers and the craft of pedal building as a whole is rapidly turning me into a JHS fanboy. Brand loyalty is HUGE with me, so videos like this (especially that last bit) are going to end up paying for a lot of bicycle parts and plane tickets abroad so you can chase down Roger Mayer and pick the brain of the Grand Puba of custom/boutique guitar effects pedals!!!
