David was with out a doubt the biggest sound to that other band and it's great how he does it with his own stuff it's almost like listening to a new album by the other band

David is the ultimate guitar God. That song is one of the best songs on that album so good job. There’s no other guitar better than David.

I've always loved this song. Such a perfect dramatic turn, and with the video to help the story along. Gilmour's dymanic switches are a staple of PF and one of his amazing tricks. He's a god.

I had the immense pleasure of watching it in cinemas when it came out in 2017. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I did not actually see him live, because it was such a mesmerizing experience - backrow seats, biggest screen in town, over 2 hours of his stuff plus the other band hehe

It's awesome that Judson likes Ween - maybe we could have a reaction video on one of their songs? Maybe one from the album White Pepper?

I'm getting to like this channel more and more. Great choice with this one, I was sauced up when I discovered this one as well :) Can you guys do a song from Wishbone Ash Argus album? Maybe Sometime World? That one in particular is a masterclass in guitar playing.

Someone asked him in an interview, what makes his sound so unique, and his reply was "bend every note."

If you haven't done it yet, "A Boat Lies Waiting". Gilmour's dedication song to Richard Wright.

You need to take a look at the song "faces of stone". If you have you know it's a really good song. David wrote it about him and his mother taking a walk somewhere in a park and she was seeing faces in the leaves of a tree as the wind was moving the leaves! She was suffering from dementia at the time and it struck David in a way that he came up with the song "faces of stone" with his mother seeing those faces! Besides being an emotional thing it's really a song that sounds at least as good as "In any Tongue"! He plays it in the same concert! Like your unique version of a reaction channel!!

His guitar tone alone is worth the admission fee. I can only think of Brian May, Santana and possibly Van Halen who are equally instantly recognisable by tone alone. Oh and Dime of course.

I love Floyd and Gilmour.nive never gotten into too much of his solo work, but i honestly thouhht this sounded like a re-written version of comfortably numb. Atbleast that was my first impressions of hearing this song

I have one of his earlier albums, "About Face" on vinyl, I have nothing else of his solo stuff to compare it to
@ianfortier6796
@ianfortier6796 Жыл бұрын
About Face, imo, is his weakest solo album. Ithas some great stuff on there buy to me it sounds dated. I'd rank his solo albums as 1 - David Gilmour (1978), 2 - On An Island (the live version on 2006's Remember That Night), 3 - Rattle That Lock (2015), and About Face (1984). If we're sticking to the studio albums, Rattle That Lock is ahead of On An Island. You definitely should give them all a listen!

@johnbelcher7955 No problem, John. Everyone has their preferred tastes. In some cases I prefer that dated 80s sound, too. There's a lot of the original A Momentary Lapse that I like better than the updated version for that exact reason. Cheers!

Well really, how can you tell someone about this music if they've never heard it? It must be heard seen and felt for oneself cause you'll never come close trying to convey to someone how David sounds.
