It's rare someone does a reaction to solo Gilmour from his first two albums. Kudos.

Love love love David Gilmour. Roger Waters can think what he wants but Floyd wouldn’t have been Floyd without Sir David.

I saw P.F./Gilmour Live 4 times... 1980 with Waters.... 1984 Gilmour solo tour.... 1987 P.F. Delicate Sound Of Thunder...1994 PULSE tour. I never paid to see waters play Bass or anything else he might do. I PAID to see Gilmour play his masterful guitar work, and so did most everyone there.
@vicprovost25613 ай бұрын
Spot on, I credit Roger's great concepts and lyrics But they are just lines on paper without Gilmour, Wright and Mason, they were true musical masters and deserve every bit of credit that Waters gets.
@vicprovost25613 ай бұрын
Quite correct, we wanted to Hear Gilmour and Wright above all else when we saw Floyd.
@KellyDaye3 ай бұрын
Both are/were great.. Stop being haters.. Actually I'm talking about all four!!! David still sings songs written by Roger and nobody can play bass like Roger and the lines that "HE" came up with..... Enough is enough!!!

Again, JM you’re the best reactor I’ve watched, always listen to the full song, then giving a well thought out commentary, great reaction! Being from Canada wondering if you could react to the Tragically Hip, New Orleans is Sinking, or maybe Locked in the Trunk of a Car, they have a lot of great tunes.

This is my favorite from About Face. We didn't hear for years that this was about John Lennon's murder but most of us knew it already.

About his anger towards the murder of John Lennon. Glad someone has finally reacted to Murder. It's a song that defines underrated. Always love when Gilmour's black strat kicks in. It's like a hurricane of sound that kicks in from out of the blue (pun intended 😉).

I saw this same show.....Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a David Gilmour show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold.

I saw this tour on consecutive Saturday nights in Hartford CT then New New Haven as they still had tickets the day of the show. Incredible show, what you just reacted to is a great sample of what he was doing at that point. After the song you just saw, he came out for an encore of Comfortably Numb with Nick Mason of Pink Floyd on drums. Another incredible version of that song, it is the best solo he has done with it outside of the Pulse concert. Please check it out and enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶🔥

At the show in L.A. there was 25 people won tickets on the radio to the show-"Sound Check"party before the show (catered-2 hours)... Names put in a box for a Fender Stratocaster Guitar... Gilmour comes out says hello started signing albums (I have one). He reaches into the box and a guy who looked like Jerry Garcia won the guitar. Gilmour signed it and they laminated it to protect the signature. The guy flipped out happy.

He said he'll be doing very few Floyd songs on the upcoming tour, so I'm hoping he does a lot from his first two albums, especially the self-titled one.
