I've watched all of the barn videos and "liked " all of them. You really have educational and informative content. I've got plans to build a four bent, 24x36 timber frame home in a year from now when I retire at 55. Your videos are an excellent introduction into the timber frame world. I've been in construction all my adult life, but never any mortise and tenon. I'll be working alone mostly, so watching how you accomplish this task is inspiring and informative. I admire your steady pace and concentration. Excellent build so far! Looking forward to seeing your next video. Be safe, take care.

Thank you so much for watching! Glad you are getting good info. This is my first timberframe so some trial and error. You will have fun on your build.

Slow and steady wins the race and you don't get hurt either. It's not the fall that hurts, it's that sudden stop at the end. Looks like you are being careful and taking your time. You and your family have a very Merry Christmas.

I saw you hefting those rafter members up on your shoulder and climbing the ladder, I'm sure you know what you're doing but I just hope you don't find yourself with a bad back on Christmas. Things are looking good, thankfully you've got some clear weather, I can't imagine setting those rafters in 2 or 3 inches of snow and ice. Take care and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. - John

Hello sir. Great video and great job ! Let’s get technical: please name the two different pulleys employed and the type and length of the screws. Good morning from William in France.

Hello William. Just a 4 pulley block and tackle, nothing special. The screws are 10 inch timber screws with a wide head.

Question for you, on those twisted beams, could you have squared them up by "sawing" the twist out of them? In other words, just square one end and milled them to that. Hope I'm explaining myself clear enough. You would lose the overall width but you wouldn't have to deal with trying to match the other cuts to the twist - at least that's what my warped brain thinks. Thanks for a wonderful series! Wished I lived in a place as beautiful! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!

Merry Christmas! I could, but I do not have a sawmill. Wish list!

Your comment is certainly unkind. I was angry at first and was going to engage in an arguement with you but I won't take advantage of an unarmed man.

Well, it would help if you could understand HUMOR. I watched the whole video and LIKED it. I made the comment in jest because he DIDN’T say anything. GET it, D-A?

Tubularguynine, This will be the only reply I will say to you. I can't stand Bullies. I have a good sense of what is humor and what is not. When I see unkind comments I will continue to call them out. Perhaps I misunderstood. In that case I apologize. You might consider thinking of how your words might be mistaken before you comment. There is humor and there is sarcasm. Have a great day.
