The fact that it was caught on the camera in wearing those cufflinks is not that unusual since the game was played every single day anyway. So it stands to reason someone's going to win the penny one day.

Mathematically any offer below 125k is a loser offer since if you play a huge amount of times the average prize would be 125k since 50% of times you'll get 0 and 50% 250k. If you have an important need of money to fix some issues of your life you can go for a 70 or 90k offer, it'll make a bigger difference from being poor than the difference between 70 and 250, but if you have a good economic stability you shouldn't accept an offer below 125k.
@scaredmuffin637111 ай бұрын
@@bartomeuifloreta8983 I'd disagree because people are more scared of losing what they have rather than risking it for more, it's a part of human nature. So as a human being, she should have taken the 88K, as that is still a tremendous sum of money, and seeing that be taken away and leave with essentially nothing is A LOT worse than dealing and seeing that you would have won the 250K. Of course, a line must be drawn somewhere on when it becomes 'worth the risk' which I'd say is about 40K. Anything below that, and it's worth risking it, but again it depends on your financial situation.

Nope - the Monty Hall Problem doesn't apply here. The key to it is the host must know where the prize is and they reveal one of the non-prize doors. In this case nobody knows where the prize is so it doesn't apply. Only if the host knew where the 250k was and revealed all the boxes up until the last 2 would the odd be 21/22 to swap.

actually the banker usually offers half the average unless there are two reds at the end. he offers close to midway if they're guaranteed 20k or the difference isn't big. the highest offer since deal began when there was a blue and 250k left was 120k in dec 2005 but the producers knew it was a pointless waste of money so now he offers 45-65k which results in mostly deals.
