SEAL Team is hands down the best of the more recent military TV shows. Obviously, Band of Brothers tops all military TV series/limited series. The Brave was Ok, but it really jumped the shark at the end.

With all due respect, BoB is a different animal. It’s mini series, no second seasons and a lot bigger budget. Seal Team is a TV show. So both are excellent in particular segment.

I commanded an intel unit in the Hong Kong Police, back in the late 80s-early 90s. I had a 3 detective sergeants and a dozen detectives under my command. Tailing suspects in a place like HK was a real challenge, simply because the streets were so crowded. We didn't have any drones back then, so over-watch was impossible. That meant you needed multiple eyes on the suspect(s) at all times, meaning you needed a big team on the op.

They watched and torched it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it when it was out. But it was definitely a hard mix of action and home life. SEAL team does a better mix of mission and home. But they rarely mix unless it's a personal level

One of the best military shows on television I have seen is called Thunder in Paradise, A show from the early 1990s about a pair of Ex Navy SEALS who patrol the Waters of the Caribbean in a fully kitted out super speedboat, helping people and getting into adventures. The military tactics in this show are second to none and the action scenes are frighteningly realistic. It stars Hulk Hogan who sports an eye patch in the first episode and then this eye patch vanishes for no reason from episode 2 onwards. Most are available for free here on KZbin. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!

A really good recommendation of a Great war flick to watch is The TRAIN, with Burt Lancaster. About the French Underground in WW2. I think it was made before black and white... like black and grey or monochrome, Lol. But that lends sooo much to the cinematic presence of the film. Awesome flick

Generation kill was the best modern military show, and Band of Brothers is the best military series of all time. And the best Green Beret movie is First Blood. I find it very odd that two green berets that watch military movies have never seen the best Green Beret movie of all time.

The prequel series to Liam Neeson's Taken also came out in the 2017 TV season. His first season had him joining the team with the second season being basically young Bryan and a guy in the chair. Of that year's class I think The Brave was my favorite with Valor bring up the rear. Even after 60 years nothing matches Combat! I'm posting before finishing the video as an old regular army soldier I have to ask would you all really continue to call your Captain "Top" after his commission?
