It is a lot of extra work for you but you know your subscribers appreciate you sharing. What surprises me is that only 20% of the viewers ‘like’ the videos. 🌞

That’s called ‘professional jealousy’ Ray! They watch with gritted teeth and their ego is getting the better of them. I’ve noticed the ‘I’m the best !’ ‘My company is the best’. ‘My way or highway’ Attitude since I was a day one apprentice, guilty of it myself. If we were all more honest and admit we don’t individually know everything, but collectively we’d go close! Everyone would have an easier day and the standards would raise significantly . The general standard of carpentry and joinery globally has fallen to horrendous levels if feel

@@Dazza19746 Hello Mr Oldschool. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I’m very much a DIYer but am quite proud of my little workshop. I met Oliver last year and he is an exceptional carpenter , joiner and farmer 🌞

Another great video and much appreciated,I like this style of vlog and I enjoy the commentary , I also watch new Yorkshire workshop but am not keen on subtitles only and no dialogue , your channel is very watchable . Great workmanship from a fellow carpenter 👍

I follow the new Yorkshire workshop & like the subtitle approach probably because of my hearing but also I think it makes you watch more intensely however if the subtitles (like this response 😅) are too long they distract from the video

Best joinery channel on KZbin 👍🏻 especially since pinching new Yorkshire workshop subtitles….. 😜 Keep going brother! Ps. If you could make a super simple sketch up ‘course’ quick and dirty for doors and windows , I’d buy it. Zero knowledge of sketch up but , I love it You always ooze professionalism Ollie whether it’s putting down drop sheets or a demo sketch up ‘explanation’ I bet feeding the dog is a like a Japanese tea ceremony! Thank you 🙏

Looks fabulous! I wouldn’t worry about slight steps in the joints at the moment, it’ll move a lot more before you fit it! 😃

Keep going mate. Videos are excellent. As a totally amateur DIYer it’s just amazing to see all the ingenuity that goes into your craft. Rare to see such care and attention in the trade. I have no idea how you afford all those Festools though. That’s mad.

How on earth would you have managed without them forks ? 😊 its 10 to7 and after along hard day I’m watching you move the timbers and really feeling your effort going into dry fitting them joints. Dimension stiles on the front door job ? ( shotgun stiles ) 😊

Will those shakes and splits need any sort of treatment / stabilization in the future ? I know it's just natural movement in the wood as it dries out but will it stop at some point or do you need to do anything, great job as always hope you continue right the way through and we get to see it installed

Nope. There's absolutely nothing you can do with green oak. It'll split, twist, bend, bow and generally be a bastard no matter what you put on it.
