This one is quickly becoming my favourite because it is really a brave song about people struggling with alcoholism. The Green Serpent is an Eastern European metaphor for alcoholism. (Tatiana has posted about her sobriety). She and the band have a lot of talent and their compositions are driving the evolution of metal but it takes guts to expose one's struggles. Good reaction.

A large part of the magic that is Jinjer is the songs are very deep. The is so much going on to unravel. Each time you listen to a song more and more is revealed. Each song is a journey. Each song has so many layer. Definitely not casual pop music...

I've been a die hard fan of Jinjer for 8 years, I've been a musician myself for 40 years in various musical genres, psychedelic underground rap, rock, funk, acid jazz, and have been a music lover for even longer.... what I have learned in recent years is that you need time to understand Jinjer, and I still haven't quite managed it to this day, but I have time........ When a band finds its own sound + style these days, as is the case with Jinjer, and experiences such a complex and varied musical development, with 4 outstanding and humble personalities, at such a high musical level, including Tati's lyrics, that I sometimes feel overwhelmed, which is just as good for me, you can ultimately only become a die hard fan of Jinjer! thanx for your emotional reaction and lovely greetings from the german musician

Jinjer is tough for reactors. Jinjer is my favourite band, and "Ape" and "Home Back" are currently my two favourite Jinjer songs, but I didn't like either of them very much at first, and I would have somewhat panned them if I had reacted to them. Many of their songs take time to comprehend and acquire the taste. For me, though, "Green Serpent resonated right away.

Vlad says he writes all the time. All three of the instrumentalists write on their own and then come together to finalize things. Because of the war in Ukraine they had more time to let ideas stew before they had to commit them to recording. So when the guys were stuck in country and couldn't leave in their spare time they wrote and practiced. Tatiana doesn't do her lyrics until the last minute. That's just her thing although I think they involved her a little in the music this time which I think is a good idea. Prior to her working on the lyrics she had some writers block when she finally got there the lyrics for each of the songs ended up being pretty personal and focused, albeit maybe over the head of some people from what I've seen. Except for this song she's been issuing comments on what the songs are about. This one was fairly straight forward. Tatiana is two year sober and the serpent is alcohol. I think Tatiana could wear a potato sack and look amazing.

I think the reason they chose not to have the band in this one is because this one was very personal to Tatiana.

I think she was actually lying on a *blue* screen, rather than a green screen (with all that green around...)

She was lying on grapes but the bluescreen was around the sqaure she was laying on.

lol Green Serpent is metaphorically referred to alcohol in russian. Bitten by green serpent in slavic tradition is symbolic of alcoholism and the depths of intoxication/addiction.....as for the song, the opeth outro is cool. Middle LOG type breakdown is cool. Also kinda sounds like an angular proggy album cut on first listen, but quickly turns out to be a banger.....also tati looks hot here 😂😂 Jinjer - Audiotree From Nothing (Live Performance)
