'Can't touch that wall'! ☺️😅😆 Just a thought, keep it as a cupboard, but remake it to fit the space to the ceiling and use doors matched to your kitchen cabinets, but paint them white gloss finish to continue the white of the fridge. It would all blend in as one, instead of the wood and white. It will brighten that whole space too. And easy to wipe the gloss paint clean. Another great video, thanks. Beth, UK xx

I want to thank you very much! We live in a mobile home ourself just made our last payment on the land and trailer. We had a mayor plumbing leak from our hot water heater to under the house with the grey pipe but as you know they don’t see the grey pipe anymore. After spending 60 dollars on so call fixes it kept busting. I watched your video and saw we can do the red pipe connect to the grey pipe! 27 dollars later no more leak! We will be changing out the piping a little at a time thank you so much!

I do use my cabinet above the fridge, but only for things I don't use that often. I keep track of what is in it by putting a note on the inside of the door to remind me of things I can't see. I have to use a step stool to get anything out. If it's easier to use baskets, get them instead. :)

Just closed on a mobile home and I'm gonna have to redo all the piping as it's that same grey piping you have. I was told by a plumber in the area that there was a multi billion dollar lawsuit regarding that piping as its garbage and causes a lot of problems with leaks. Many videos online back that statement up. I saw a video where a 40 year veteran plumber out of texas said the shark bite fittings aren't his go to and cooper is his preferred method, then the crimping of pex pipe like you are doing. I'll be doing what you are doing as I'm not about to pay over 6k just to repipe the house nor am I about to lay under a mobile home for a month soldering copper pipe. Thank you for the helpful info 👍✌
@sam-and-angela4 жыл бұрын
I hear many people rave about shark bite fittings, but I'm not a fan of them either. :) We have not had any issues with pex and the crimp fittings we've used, thankfully. Our oldest repairs here are 6 years old and still holding up fine (knock on wood). :)

You're both working hard on the kitchen and doing an awesome job! When my hubby did my kitchen, he stripped the entire room down to the rafters and updated the plumbing and electrical, new appliance and cabinets BUT it took 3 months! At first I enjoyed it because it meant no cooking but before I knew it, I was bored with eating out and wanted my kitchen back. Learned my lesson, now I hire someone to work with him so things can be finished in my lifetime. Can't wait to see your finished kitchen!

Wow, the plumbing job seemed a huge task!! All done on the floor in those areas though, very well done both. That a wonderful thing a safe, level floor is!! You are both doing so well, every day chipping away to get all the jobs done. I know how difficult it is to live with things upside down while jobs are being done. Especially the jobs that can take several weeks to complete. I'm living that way too along with you, and admire your patience. I'm with Angela on the lazy susan, they are fantastic for pans and large bowls. I also agree that some lovely wicker baskets would look stylish and be functional on top of the fridge. The one thing I learned when we remodeled our mobile home kitchen was any low spots in the floor will stand out like a sore thumb. It's best just to remove the entire subflooring. I got the great idea of using BONDO to fill in the low spots in our entryway. My brother loves working with the stuff. Well, he got carried away. Four cans later and a bunch of Sanding and BONDO dust everywhere , he got it level again. That's the LAST time I ever use filler to fix a floor. I will tear up every square inch of subfloor before I do that again. It's good to see you using insulation in the floor. I added new where ever I had to pull up subflooring. That includes the bathroom and hall as well as kitchen and living room. I swear by the shark teeth pipe fastener. We didnt replace any of the water lines. I did add in water shut off valves on everything. As you know, mobile homes do not have them. The dumbest thing ever.
@sam-and-angela5 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right! New floor all the way! That's the first I've heard of using Bondo on a floor, too! LOL When we replaced our water heater about two years ago I added several shut off valves -- can't have too many! Thanks -Sam

What team work! Fantastic job. I am so happy for your success. As for the cabinet above the fridge. It's a hard to reach area to start with. Perhaps just a shelf, could be ventilated, and then decorations on it on , or baskets, or whatever. Something you don't mind pulling off the shelf to dust now and then and don't need often.
