Barbara here. I also live in a single wide home. What's the deal with no linen closets? Guess only some doublewide families have linens! And no shelves in kitchen cabinets! I just don't get it. And toliet tissue dispenser. Just cause we live in a trailer doesn't mean we all have outhouses and don't need toliet tissue!!

Remodeling a single wide. Tore out(literally!😂) all kitchen cabinets. A 7 ft. tall pantry was a must! Adding a 2 ft.×2 ft broom&mop closet(no carpet anywhere!) and a linen wardrobe in guest room(my grandfather's wardrobe). These are amenities I have longed for, for decades. I can't wait to call this new-to-us mobile home our forever HOME SWEET HOME! So happy for Sam and Angela and have watched them for almost 2 years. Such wonderful, special people and willing to share their knowledge has been a HUGE blessing to this DIYer!!💞🙏💞

Depends on make and model. I lived in a single wide with linen closet and sufficient cabinet. It was a cheapy in the day. S&A are doing a great job on their renovations.

Latex paint is really annoying. It peels off, stays sticky. They need to invent a better wall paint or something. The bathroom looks a lot better with this paint color.

The thing about me is if it has any kind of humidity or moisture behind it, it will peel every single time. Also in regards to the outlet covers if you take a razor blade and score around them at a 45° angle he won’t have any peeling of the paper or paint behind it hope this helps. I really enjoy watching your videos. They’re very calming and relaxing at the end of my day.

Carefully cut around the wall plates with a sharp box cutter before removing them and your paint won't peel. Also let the paint dry for 24hrs or more before putting covers on and they shouldn't stick. Great work, looks good!

Never had an issue with the plates pulling latex paint off the walls. Your plates appeared to be sticking to the wall as if the paint was not fully dried when installed. Try not tightening the plates down until the paint is fully dried.

I really like that gray/green color with the white; very fresh looking, but not too minty. One idea for later on.. build a closet from the high window all the way over and enclose the hot water heater (one big closet) all the way to the ceiling. I think that would look like it was all original and built it. You could have removable shelves in case you needed to change out the hot water heater.

A good idea for pouring paint is they have a lid with a spout or you can buy an extra lid and poke a hole in it near the rim and just replace the lid when you're done.

Have you ever thought of making an outside closet for the water heater? I live in a 1973 mobile home and my heater access is from the outside. Advantages reclaim or eliminate the closet, easier access when it comes time to replace this one, if/when the heater leaks it won’t damage the mobile home flooring. I hope you have a pan and a drain to the outside avoid water damage. I do enjoy your channel. You guys are a great team and I enjoy your interaction with each other and the boys.

Home Depot sells metal switch plate and wall socket covers. You can paint them any color you want and my wife has put wood grain on several where we have barn type wood on the walls. The good part is they stay straight, won't crack and will last for ever. They come in white.

You need to wait at least 24 hours before adding the fixtures. Love the new paint and linen storage.

You have let your paint cure for many days. Put your covers on just don't screw them down tight until it has cured. After it has cured then you can tighten your screws on the covers. This what I have found works well for me. Haven't had any trouble doing it this way.

Angela, I have always read in the decorator books that if you live in a small home , ( anything around 3000 sq ft and under ) you should always paint all your rooms the same color to make your rooms and look larger. Rich people and their beliefs !! Go figure !! 🤪🤗😂

I love watching your videos! We own a double wide manufactured home (that has no linen closet, hall closet, or coat closet!) and I have been renovating it room by room. (Removing the wallboard strips; securing the drywall with screws; mudding & taping; sanding, priming & painting the walls; removing the popcorn ceilings; and replacing flooring.) I am in the process of doing our master bathroom and recently saw a video that said you need to use an oil-based primer for it to adhere to the vinyl wallboard. I trying it in the room to see how it goes.

You can store opened paint cans upside down if the rim is clean and well sealed of course. This keeps air from penetrating the can. Bathroom looks awesome!

Spray cans also upside down. It keeps the nozzle from drying out.

Hey, Angela! We saw the shirt you were wearing said Charleston, South Carolina! After living 45 years in Charleston, we moved to North Carolina almost 2 years ago. We have a small farmstead and LOVE it! We have a big garden, 10 egg laying chickens, and we raise and process our own meat chickens. I've been canning and freezing veggies like crazy! Woo hoo! We were members of First Baptist Church. If you're in Charleston and there for a Sunday, you should go to the church service. It's the oldest of all Southern Baptist churches. They just celebrated the 340th anniversary this past Sunday and we were there for the celebration! I do hope you will revisit Charleston someday. Blessings.

I found this information that might address your paint problem. Most paints on the market that have a high wash ability high durability technology are also a 30-day curing process. It might be dry within a couple hours, and it might feel nice and hard the next day, but resist the temptation to hang pictures or mount fixtures or anything like that on a freshly painted surface for at least 48 hours. After 30 days you can then be free to do any kind of washing.

The bathroom is so pretty with the new paint color and accessories! That is a GREAT linen closet and a perfect fit! And can be easily moved if you need to work on the water heater. I didn't see the bed either, Angela, no worries...Lol. When I paint, I tend to get more on me than what I'm painting. I feel your pain.

In most cases, latex (water-based) paint will peel off enamel (oil-based) paint unless the enamel is scuffed and primed.

Hey Sam and Angela! Nice homey place! Sam I noticed the space between the new cabinets and the toilet has a access door. If that is the hot water tank and for mechanicals with outside access also, I would suggest getting some wheels from harbor freight or buy a furniture dolly and build a platform on top of the dolly with shoe molding around it. Then put the shelf on that dolly. Making it easy to just roll the shelf away to gain access to the mechanical closet from inside. Make it uniform height of the top of the water heater/mechanical closet and put some additional shelving up there or decorative pieces to make it pop. Or the additional storage space on top could be used for seasonal bedding and excess things. I'm sure Angela would appreciate it all blends in but to gain more storage also... A wall mounted exhaust fan with a light would do nice for over the toilet, so that the odors don't linger into the bedroom before it gets to the shower exhaust fan. Wall mounted would mean less penetrations in the roof. Just a thought... Still loving you guy's content.

Love the new linen storage. I have a single unit like it that I use as a pantry. Good and sturdy. Love the color….so calming. There will always be some little something that needs to be done. That why we have honey-do lists…..lol.God’s blessings always.

My husband and I bought a 14 by 70 3 bedroom 2 bath single wide 20 years ago for a thousand dollars, and remodeled it from the bare floor joists up. It took 28 months, and about 12,000 dollars, but everything was new when we were done. I love our home, and not having a house payment. You guys are doing a great job.

That is awesome! Ours was $2,000 in 2016. :) I don't want to think how much we've put into it over the years, but would do it all over again for sure! No cheaper way of getting a beautiful, safe & solid home without debt.

What a professional painter told me after you get done painting the wall you want to wait at least 2 week before you hang anything up.

💕You can always change the colour of leftover paint either by adding white to lighten or adding colours to darken 💕All you need to remember for success is if it’s silk or Matt mix with silk or Matt etc…💕This way you don’t waste said paint also tip some of leftover colour into a jar for touch up label which room & store in shed as some paints are flammable💕

There is a “pour and store” plastic funnel type gadget, costs about $3.00 at Lowes. Keeps from having a messy paint can lid.

Spare duvets and bedspreads could fit nicely above that water heater. Given a wicker basket or box...Painted white? And Sheets, pillow cases, tablecloths, napkins, place settings, hand towels, etc could go above that nice new closet.. in wicker boxes... painted white? But what do I know. Me and my wife bought a single wide trailer about 6 years ago and put it on new land in East Tennessee and it's just a two-bedroom one-bath trailer and now we have two little girls that have taken over our little house I have been building a master bedroom and bathroom the past 4 months all myself I wish I would have discovered y'all's video at the start of my edition but I am very happy to watch it for me finishing up the plumbing and doing drywall we all did a great job working together as a team I'm going to be honest that's very special to have a good partner to help you with the building projects 😂 much respect to your what part of East Tennessee do you all live in don't mind me asking I'm in Elizabethton Tennessee😊

Sam and Angela. If there was high humidity in the house when you painted that is probably the reason. Latex tends to lose it adhering abilities when moisture gets trapped underneath the paint while it is being applied, although oil dirt and dust can cause the same issue, in this case I'd bet that it was moisture. Given the where you are, the lack of a/c to dry the air inside and time of year. I do agree, that egg yolk yellow was a bit much.

Ruth here, when l painted my shelves l waited a few days then l put wax paper on the shelves before l set anything on em, that worked, l wait, it seems so long before l put stuff back on the walls, l have no problems stuff sticks to paint,

That’s latex paint, it dries but takes way longer to cure. It felt dry but it wasn’t cured. I love it!! Oh my gosh Angela and the screw I just did that routine today grrrr
