Sam, you're a fantastic Dad. You are so patient with teaching the boys and encouraging them. You can see the pride they both show in doing 'real' work. I can just see them telling their friends, 'Yeah, hung out with the boys doing man's work drywalling the shed. No big deal.'

I have been watching you since you installed the blue water barrels at the old place. I am a 70 year old woman who doesn't have a clue about your Lazer projects but I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you and Angela remodel your Palm Harbor single wide, dig those massive trenches, build the porch and deck. You guys are incredible. You are doing fine!! Really! Your boys have grown so much this year. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.

Sam, protecting that insulation you spent money and time on is your encouragement/motivation to finish out the drywall in the shed. No matter how careful you are that paper on insulation is too easy to tear.

Don't worry about selling it. Just lay some lumber thru the sides, letting the ends rest on those side rails, creating shelves and you have an instant storage shelf, on wheels for easy moving if needed... AND if you ever do need scaffolding again, you still have it, just serving another purpose

I always go with asking myself how I'll feel if I do and How I'll feel if I don't. Takes the thinking about the work right out of the equation. Yes, of course, we will be here to watch and support you. Funny you said that, because earlier in the video I was thinking, 'I never would have imagined that I'd be sitting here watching someone hang drywall.' Something about going along with a family you've gotten to know a little I guess. Best of luck with the new channel!

Sam, consider this encouragement to finish drywall in the shed. To me the most important reason would be so that the temperature of the walls would be the same all through the building in cold or heat. I'm certainly not an expert, not even close, but I feel like not having the same setup throughout the building could lead to moisture or other differences that could lead to problems. And yes we will watch the video of you doing that and give you a thumbs up. Your Apprentice was a delight, glad to see him getting to learn new and useful skills.
@peggyzion84482 жыл бұрын
Wow!! Elijah is getting really good with those tools (I'm really impressed!!) and I imagine he's learning a ton about drywall from you. Now, about the other half; the sooner you begin, the sooner it will be done and not constantly on your mind. Nuff sed.

Do all the drywall, Sam. Everything you do is great to watch, and you know you'll regret it later if you don't do it. It's additional insulation, it is easier to keep clean, it makes the room brighter and reflects your lights, it looks great...you know the rest. We'll watch every second of it (maybe twice). Oh, and Thanks for the kitten footage - we look forward to seeing them grow up into working homestead employees :)

Sam….Looks great! I know and agree with what ya think I hate drywall as well, but I think you should finish it for several reasons… it will still add a bit of insulation, it will keep your space cleaner and or easier to clean, and it will make the entire space brighter more even lighting. And if your going to spend the time you think you are working in there it would be nice to just have a finished look. Now all this being said for me personally I would just do a fast tape job and just a basic sand nothing crazy like in a house and just pop some paint on to seal and call it a day! And lastly you need to give yourself more credit my friend! Oh and once again its soooo cool to see you involving the boys and giving them valuable life skills! It also gives them pride and ownership every time they go in there!

Do the ceiling on the other side and the loft/fort area. Then decide. I think when you insulate a storage shed and will be heating it then it is better to cover the insulation with something hard.

Do the other end with the thin underlayment used for floors and turn the spacing marks to the wall. That way you can put it up with the nail gun and its much lighter than drywall. It will protect the insulation and keep the bugs out.

And Sam I do want to say, you remind me of my son who is also 36 and has a great sense of humor. I really enjoy watching all the videos you and Angela post with special guest appearances by the boys!
