Rather than 2d12, 1d10+2 and 1d8+4 would prevent rerolling.

That is called Scramble. It's much better than Fisher 960.

Imagine the chances of getting a 12x12 board with all queens (including king). Just a little over 1 in four million *excluding the chances the board is 12x12*

This is something I've done before with my own gui, I've even made functionality to automatically generate a board like this with a specific size.

Actually, the king doesn't have to be between the two rooks in the modern versions

Okay, I know this sounds crazy, but CUBE CHESS! 8x8x8 board, where pieces that move infinity spaces (queens, rooks, bishops) Can only move from one side to another in a single move. I think the black and white pieces should be on opposite or adjacent sides, to make it even ore interesting. Idk, I just thought it would be a cool idea. Maybe some blacked out sides or blacked out spaces to make it so white doesn't get an immediate advantage. If you actually made this you can change anything you want, but I just thought this would be cool.

8:52 this position is a mate in 9 for white, the moves that hold on for that longest are Qd4 and Nc2, with everything else losing in 5 moves or less Edit: the move you chose (Qf2) leads to being mated in 4 moves
