Pay to move there? No, thank you. Don’t pay for love and don’t pay for my new hometown unless Carmel-by-the-Sea comes calling my name.

I would move there in an instant. I am retired and was once living in South Bend and now in Canada but would move back if i could legally as i was before. Rather spend my retirement monet there than here .

Grew up here, but it's not the same town we lived in during the 1950s. That said, much of its neighborhoods look like they did. We lived at 140 South Michigan Avenue. All of the neighborhood houses between Main Street and the railroad tracks have been torn down.

I lived in Greensburg until I was 11 years old and my father was actually the publisher of the newspaper there for many years. It was actually a pretty nice town. I still have some relatives there. One reason it is mostly White is because it was a "sundowner" town. I was told from an early age that no Black person could spend the night there. I doubt if it was ever really a law but I was told that by many people including teachers and police officers. It had a reputation for racism at least into the 80s. I was in a band out of Jennings County and our lead singer was Black. We were offered a gig at the Greensburg YMCA and his parents would not let him go. Later on, my step-mother was personal manager at K-Mart and they had a Black person as an assistant manager and I was told that customers complained and he was transferred. That would have been about 84 or 85.

Thats horrible crap and not uncommon in USA. Than people have the nerve to say blacks are not disabled economically here. Today its the same thing but done differently the result is the same.

Im from westport. In the late 90s a trucker came through and hit the pizza shop. After my buddy served him he got a phone call from a local telling him not to serve blacks. Smh

I tried to drive through Greensburg Indiana, ended up getting 6 years in Indiana prison over my medical Marijuana. .I do not advise anyone to go anywhere near there..💯
@michaelsatler367111 ай бұрын
My guess is, your 6 year sentence wasn't just for driving with medical marijuana in your procession, even if illegal, but the amount of marijuana that you were driving around with, and/or with other drug or weapon related illegals in your procession. Drug cartels actually need great drivers who are very careful drivers, who can stay as cool as a cucumber, avoiding getting busted by either cops or border control.
