I loved this video, thank you for the breakdown! In terms of Fiber I agree and I usually take in 35-40g on average everyday, and if my fiber is low at the end of the day ill supplement fiber. Ironically I was STARVING last night and my girl just picked up some strawberries so I weighed out 300g and realized it was less than 100 calories! I was MIND BLOWN hahah, Definitely very satiating and will be my go to from now on if I need carbs and something high volume. I would agree with you on my body fat % in this video, around that time I was more so around 12% ... its really easy to think you're a lower body fat % than you really are. I'm currently around 8-9%. I understand that It's going to be a lot harder for me to put on muscle while maintaining 6% but I'm willing to test my body and figure out my sweet spot of still growing between 6-12%.

Exercise more, sure.. But eat less calories? I disagree. It’s excessively easy to eat 100-500 less calories daily in our generation. You use full fat sauce on salad, switch to low fat. Diet sodas. Switch to black coffee or sugar free sweetener and sugar free nut milk…. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Drink more water… It’s literally the easiest challenge life will ever throw at you

The crazy part is that information is literally at everybody's fingertips but nobody's willing to go out of their way to actually research the topic. And then they end up relying on other people to feed them information cuz they're too lazy to go look up the information their self. And it's not like it's hard to find accurate information, any government or education website that goes through peer review will do just fine. I come across so many people that want to lose weight but don't want to change their lifestyle and are literally just looking for a quick fix just to go back to their yo-yo diet. Then it's back to "I don't know why I'm gaining weight again"

Hey Greg , thanks for the advice! Currently im dieting , i was 72 kg and now after a month and a half I am at 66 kg. I train 6 days a week and do 180 minutes of cardio every week minimum. Changes happen but take time. My body weight has fluctuated but decresing every week. You explained it and thats what has happened to me. I guess i have done it right even though i had no prior knowledge in dieting. So for those who are questioning that i am to light its because im not too tall. I was 62 kg prior with low body fat and pretty visible abs and muscle . But gained a lot of body fat and i got to 72 kg.

The #1 absolute best technique for losing weight...super simple food journaling..just write the sh*te down. Dont go overboard in the first month by counting calories meticulously. Just start! Write it by hand...write every day and just when you eat it. You could even add what exercise you did and how you feel in order to see how that works. Get a habit and start there. This really helps me get my head around the learning aspect and has helped me go a bit more over to the intuitive process as my habits have settled.

Hello Greg. I’ve been following you around under another account for long now. Just wanted to share my experience. I wasn’t new to the gym but got used to dieting and going harder than last time for 1.5 years. I had a coach the whole time, a former pro bodybuilder. He made me gain +20-25kg in ~6/8 month, natural, through multiple diet changes and a lot of gainers and such. At the end of the day I went from 73-75kg to 95. I followed a 2500-3000-3600-4200-5000 kcal intake. When came the time to cut the bulking process he made me out of the blue go down to 2600 kcal alongside the use of animal cut. He stated that it would take me 3 month to get ‘good’ around what 12% bf and approximately 78kg. I couldn’t stand his coaching anymore and didn’t approve of his training methods since there was no steps inbetween the cut. So I talked with a friend that works in the diet industry and he made me a new one at 3000 ( my maintenance being at 3600 ). I’ve lost what the first kg from 95 to 88 quite rapidly before applying the changes and now am at 86.5. Adding cardio and abs to every session, still taking the animal cut (1/day), and am stable now regarding my performances that were starting to decline. I feel like I got it under control but I don’t know, my sessions are longer than last time ( ~ 2h+ / day ) to maintain the strength I got and ensure I could add calves, abs, cardio, stretch, and the 2 muscular groups every time. From time to time I even add boxing classes. Still no sign of 6 pack for now, and I’ll admit that it pisses me off since the diet is on point, getting enough sleep, hydrating and such. Probably just need to lower the bf % I guess. What do you think of all my ‘journey’ so far ? (Anyone s free to answer, would appreciate it) Have a good one guys

I don't really like having to forbid "cheat" meals. If you do feel like eating a certain meal and it's a bit higher in calories, just make sure the rest of the meals are a bit smaller, as long as it fits your macros, that way you will also enjoy dieting better if you can still eat things you want

The only thing is coma at least what I found, is that you do need a period of letting your taste buds adjust? Or else you'll just going right back to your old habits so just having a short time of a month or 2 before going back to your old foods will help you adjust your palate

Do calorie banking. I will explain it with an example: Assume you maintain your weight or your calorie deficit at 2000 calories per day, so that's 14,000 per week. 1. Before the day of going out start decreasing by 200 calories each day so you will be at 1800. 2. So let's assume you know you will go out on a Saturday next week. Then you start on Sunday the week before cutting to a daily of 1800. 3. Now you will go through Sunday-Friday on 1800 meaning you have 1200 calories extra for Saturday (200 calories * 6 days). 4. Saturday you can eat your 3200 calories, since you have the 1200 from banking your calories. 5. You shouldn't have gained weight since your calories in the total week will still be 14,000 calories.

I seriously thought I was the only person that used the "I'm not feeling it today, so I'll just do cardio" method to decide when to do an "active" rest day. If I skip a day going to the gym, I'm scared I will just stop going. I want to keep that habit for the rest of my life. I'm also 2648 days straight of logging food on Myfitnesspal. I track even if it's Christmas Day and I'm going to eat 3500 calories. At least I know how badly I ate and can readjust the day after. Making good habits is the key to fat loss and keeping it off. I've kept 51 pounds off for 7 years now and I'm probably in the best shape I've ever been. I've managed to get my blood pressure normal on my own with no pills, etc. except for beet chew supplements. They really work!

One thing I have to point out: He says he wouldn't cut the calories by more than 500, yet he lost 33lbs in 3 months. Let's say we subtract water and glycogen, thats about 2lbs per week, so he is more likely to be in a 1000 calorie deficit, as 1kg (2.2lbs) of pure bodyfat has 7000 calories. So if you have a 1000 calorie deficit, he will lose 1kg (2.2lbs) of bodyfat in a week. If he had an average calorie defcit of 500 per day, he would have had a weekly defcit of 3500, which is 0.5kg (1.1lbs) of bodyfat per week. With that in mind, he would have lost 13.2lbs of bodyfat in 3 months, but this seems extremly unrealistic, as he has lost 33lbs total bodyweight. Even if you add in lost muscle tissue (which is rather unlikely), there is no way he only lost 13.2lbs of bodyfat. While I appreciate his advice on not going into a too big of a deficit, he was probably in a deficit closer to a 1000 (which makes sense, for most men who work out and have a decent understanding on NEAT, 2000 calories is rather low). Personally, I'm on a cut myself at the moment, I'm eating 2200 calories, go the gym 4 times per week, hitting around 10-12k steps per day, and I weight in at 90kg (198lbs) while being 6'1ft (186cm). I'm consistenly losing 1kg (2.2 lbs) per week on 7 day average, while seeing pretty fast results.

I was questioning that myself. I'm 5'10, in the last 20 days I've lost 5 pounds and I'm down to 193. I bulked all winter, and I'm about 18% bf rn, but I don't want to cut calories too badly. I upped my cardio, I kept my calorie level at 2200-2400, with a goal weight of 180. good luck on your cut! I wonder if he has some sort of assistance.

You are misunderstanding his statement. He wouldnt cut his CONSUMUED CALORIES by more than 500. He never brought up movement, neat, digestion of protein, cardio, etc., which is what would have put him in another 500 calorie deficit thus = your 1k.

It’s always so funny to see people realize that sustainable is the best way. Honestly, the snacks that coach Greg had talked about are my game changers! I LOVE my microwave popcorn and my Greek yogurt “ice cream” bars. I’m now losing weight without working hard at it.

ever since i started half marathon training i struggle to eat enough and constantly have to catch up on calories on my rest days so my performance isn't affected negatively but when I was only strength training it was quite the opposite almost, definitely cardio can be your best friend :)

A lot of this advice can be used towards bulking. If you miss one day of eating it makes it harder to keep on the extra weight since your body hasn't regulated yet

I’ve been doing an hour of cardio per day now, now just for losing weight, but for stress relief. I’m getting addicted to it!
@ClickClack_Bam
@ClickClack_Bam 2 жыл бұрын
That's crazy doing an hour. Running etc has a very bad diminishing returns. This means your body adapts very fast to cardio. To get more benefit you have to run longer, or faster, or at a steep incline etc. You get more efficient over time & your body becomes efficient at running & no you burn less calories because your body isn't working as hard after it's used to training. Exercising burns calories far better than cardio does for the time invested.

Yeah I agree with you on skipping the peanut butter type stuff and adding lower calorie options. When I do scrambled eggs I do 4 egg whites with peppers, onions, mushrooms and spinach with a serving of velveeta shreds on top for some cheesy goodness and the plate is SUPER FULL with very little fat and calories and high in protein and actual nutrients. If I happen to be starving, I’ll add a small side of mixed berries. But I rarely have to. This is coming from someone who is still obese but I’ve lost 80 pounds naturally in about 6 months time and I’m still going strong. I love peanut butter like the next person but there are absolutely better alternatives.
