I went from eating 4000 calories then to 3,500 then 3,000 then 2,750 over a period of a couple months and I only lost 3-4 lbs. I was still getting stronger and was able to do my cardio at a higher intensity too. I was kind of surprised how much better I felt at 3K than 4K as well as how much easier cardio was
@eclecticbynature93753 жыл бұрын
@Carl Panzram I wouldn't say I am struggling, I am having a great time maingaining. When I was at 4K it was easy because I had whole eggs, peanutbutter, chocolate and caramel sauce, 8 french toast a day. I was probably ~20% body fat though. So I cut it down slowly while getting stronger and cardio got easier. So essentially I said I was recomping (my ego), when I was bulking. Got called out for it because I used to have abs and striations. Knew they were right cut the food down a bit and got down to 14-16% body fat and have been sticking to 3K maingaining.

IMO most people can get shredded. The difficulty depends on genetics.
@FirstNameLastName-gq3uv3 жыл бұрын
Yep. The problem is maintenance. Anyone can get to sub 10%. How your body reacts to that in the long term (if it freaks out and makes you massively hungry), depends on your genetics. For some people, the body simply will refuse to let you remain there without a ton of active mental energy tracking every morsel and starving yourselves. That’s not sustainable for them.
@@Dinesh-mc8jg Doesn’t work like that. Eating volumous foods does help for sure, but there are times where I’m bloated and my stomach is distended due to how many veggies I ate, but I’m still hungry.
@sonmohikan59643 жыл бұрын
@@RPE-Official No but genetics will make you lose muscle rather then weight when you become leaner or if your genetics are good , you will lose that fat easier and your Body will hold the muscles better. Or you will feel like shit, your hormones will be fucked therefore you wont be able to get anymore leaner without risking your health and so on. So yeah everyone can get leaner and yes genetics wont change the laws of thermodynamic but other factors will play roles on your body. Because only energy on your body is not the fats and especially after a certain point depending on your genetics your body can eat the muscles too.

This is a fantastic discussion. The research on environment being insignificant in kids is fascinating to me, considering other research I've heard of where children with obesity tend to be deficient in Leptin, and supplementing that deficiency can have pretty incredible results. The pre-natal environment point could use more study since between my half-sibling and I, our mom's pre-natal state was very different as we're 10 years apart, and in theory he should be struggling with his weight like I do and I shouldn't have issues with my weight, yet he's one of those genetic specimens discussed here and I'm rather fluffy XD. I think the overall genetics play a bigger role, but it's exciting to see what else comes out on the topic!
