Yesterday I (Vet. of the U.S.A.F.) and my sweet Barbi returned home from the U.S.A.F. Museum, our second trip there, located adjacent to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio. For 3 Days at Wright-Pat they had R.C. (radio controlled) demos and competitions. The Brits were represented, with the R.C.s including two R.C. Sopwith Camels, atleast one Spitfire, and what I took as a Hurricane, plus your version of the Warthog. In the museum itself, about the same thing. The U.S.A.F. Museum gives full equal credit to the R.A.F. I think forlornly about what you dealt with before the U.S. joined the fight in WWII. I love my Brit cousins! When I come to the home of my forefathers I'll visit the RAF museum as a priority. Long live the R.A.F and the U.S.A.F.!

As a kid I used to hear my dad and his friends get tanked up and sing war songs and of course this was one of them. I never quite knew what they were singing about until I was in my late 30s when I went to Europe with a friend. We flew into Luxemborg and took a train to Ostende and then boarded a ferry to Dover. It was night and all of a sudden I saw these huge white things. I thought they looked like ice bergs and then I realized I was seeing the white cliffs of Dover. Tears streamed down my eyes. I have never been able to listen to this song without recalling that moment and understanding what my dad and his friends were thinking about when they sang this song.

I'm afraid we are going to Very Soon wish the the Greatest Generation, the Allies that worked so hard in a common cause for the downfall of tyranny, were still with us in the flesh. The fight we will be engaged in will in all likelyhood be more like a Hostile invasion crossed with a Civil War crossed with a Revolutionary War !God Help Us.One good thing that I have ALSO noted is that you and I are by no means the only people having this conversation.
