@@robotpizzaI guess it's sorta weird, but I'm heartened to find that I'm not the only one who would love to have just sat down and had a conversation with Gregg, he seemed to have been a really kind and down to earth human being. Maybe it's a southern thing, but I appreciate the fact that he didn't forget where he came from like a lot of folks do. Ride on Gregory, you did alright! 🍄☮✌

One mid day at a pub in Emeryville (San Francisco) While sat alone at the bar ,this guy walks in and sits two stools away from me. It was Greg Allman. He lived across the street. For the first time in a while, I didn't know what to say and didn't want to say anything dumb, so I just finished my pint and left. It was too strange for me.

I think you can see how shy and soft spoken he is here. He had class and he had manners. He absolutely hated interviews and promotional appearances. I think alot of interviewers probably automatically assumed that Gregory would be an egotistical and conceited pain in the ass. Things are not always as they appear. And he also dreaded the inevitable questions about his brother's accident, with whom he chooses to remember Duane with all the good happy memories and those questions always took him back to that moment of personal devastation. At least in this appearance it didnt go there, like he probably was expecting. You can see Regis and Kathy Lee lighten up, when they discover that he is not just another pompous ass rock star. Today is May 2nd and Gregg will have been gone now 3 years as of the 27th of May. He was always who he was and had no problem with the honesty of that. There will never be another like him. Before he passed, he asked his manager if he thought people would remember him. Rest Easy Brother, ALOT of people love you and miss you like crazy!

Thanks for your support with your comment! I feel supported, anyway! A shame that a 'single' youngster believes that they know more than a' whole' generation that happened to be around at the time. I'm quite sure that Zakk was not a "twinkle in ANYONE'S eye" when this band, or 'The man' was going full force. No offense to Zakk, but I for one know what went on in the day! Although it would be great if the younger set became aficionados and knew more about the people behind the bands of our time!

Tks for appreciating the "old school" stuff, many do but always have negative things to say because they 'think' that they shouldn't like it.
