I have spent countless hours over the last several weeks listening to every podcast I could find about POD and combing through every article and social media post, and in all of them combined I didn't get as much value as I did out of these 39 minutes. You've restored my faith in humanity. I know that sounds dramatic but I mean how many times was I given a "training" containing super vague and incomplete information only to be led to a miles-long sales page about joining a "community" for the low, low price of $600 a month or whatever. I believe in paying people for their work, of course, but I don't even trust that these people knew what they were talking about. I NEVER leave comments on KZbin videos, but I seriously cannot thank you enough for this. You give information so clearly, you take us through step by step, it doesn't feel intimidating or overwhelming, I genuinely feel like you have saved me MONTHS of mistakes. Seriously, thank you so much. I will send people directly to this video if anyone ever expresses any interest in this. I get overwhelmed so easily and I feel my path is absolutely clear. Greg, you are the only POD influencer who gives me hope that I can make it in the marketplace arena. Everyone else is telling me I MUST sell on my own website, and spend countless hours on advertising and customer service hassles. Frankly, I just don't want to spend my time and energy on things I hate, rather than the thing I love: creating. For me, it's marketplace... or nothing.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I agree! I've done it both ways now and the passive marketplace route is soo much more enjoyable from the seller perspective. The day-to-day tasks are more enjoyable and less stressful (frankly when you want to 'work' all you have to do is find more niches, create designs, and upload them). and once the work for the day is done, it's done, there's no monitoring ongoing ads or anything like that. I will say though, that initial niche research is the key to succeeding on the big marketplaces. Thanks again for the comment and if you run into any questions I can help with just let me know!

I am an artist who for almost a decade was ordering and STORING merch (prints, decals, postcards, calendars, etc.) of my work. Now my newest web host offers drop-ship services so I've been slowly acclimating to it. The hardest part for me is trusting the quality and service of the drop shipper because I've been doing everything for so long on my own. Recently I've started playing more with AI designs and decided I'd like to try to sell some of those designs as well but because they're not directly related to my business I was a little uncomfortable putting them on my site. As another viewer said, I've been doing hours/days/weeks of research and had even signed up for an account with Printify. Ironically, I found you when I was researching them once again after receiving an email reminder to get started with my account. 😂 I've watched, thumbs-uped and saved two of your vids now and am also following. As someone else commented, you deserve to be compensated for the time and details you've shared, so I look forward to supporting you through using your codes to purchase your recommended subscriptions and maybe buy you a coffee through here if you have that feature activated. I'm really sorry to hear you're dealing with this. I wanted to suggest that you look for actual jobs where you just work online - such as virtual assistant jobs, or gigs where you can use any skills you have (writing, graphic design, etc). Many virtual assistant type jobs are willing to train you if you have no experience. You could perhaps pursue a job with a regular paycheck in addition to side streams of income like this t-shirt idea. A person absolutely CAN make money online, but the most reliable way to make a living wage is to have multiple streams of income rather than relying on just one stream. It just so happens that I work in online marketing, and have done for more than 10 years. We help people make money online all the time, but I will say that building up a meaningful stream of income this way (by selling something) does take time and consistent work to build up. That's why I'm suggesting that you work a job online in addition to selling things online - with a job, you'll start seeing a regular paycheck right away, instead of having to wait longer if you rely only on selling products. It's worth considering. Depending on where you live (if you are anywhere in the US) there are also resources to help you get out *now* if you want to - there are shelters, and also organizations where you can call when you're alone, talk about the specifics of your situation and they'll help you make a safe plan to get out and get your life back. Financial abuse is real abuse, and if you are in the US you can google the National Domestic Violence Hotline, call their number and they will listen judgement-free and help you brainstorm ideas to get out. In another country I don't know what the service is called, but you can search "help for financial abuse" in an incognito window to find the services that might apply to you where you live. Man, am I glad I found you Greg. I have spent $1,100 in April for a lady who was doing a very similar business POD and it required you to watch over 100 videos before your store is up and running. Let just say, it was so hard to follow her business strategy and it cost me up to date about $1,800 to kick start my store and by far I have not made a dime from it yet. I found you and I am committed that this is what I have been looking for and you just made it so simple to follow. I believe this is my way out and start fresh, even though I lost so much money in the last few months but I truly believe you from what I just learned in 39 minutes. Been looking for good information on POD for tees and this is very eye-opening. Please keep up the great job! A couple of questions for you: 1. Regarding trademarks or copyrights, how can I protect my designs with these? Is it worth the time and effort? If yes, what's the process and how much will it eat into profits? 2. For t-shirts, how do you verify or assess the quality of the t-shirts? It will be good to keep customers coming back because of good and reliable quality

Thanks for the comment! 1. Technically you can formally trademark or copyright your designs but it's about $500 per design (I've done it before but I don't think it's worth it unless it's selling like crazy). If someone copies your design you can report them to the platform as a 'copycat' and they will be removed (all without you having to formally protect your designs). Secondly, the big POD sites have good quality by using commercial grade DTG printers, but you can always buy one of your shirts to see the quality first hand. I've done this on the big sites to get a product in hand and can confirm they are good quality.

Such a great video! Was curious as to how the copyright works after I upload the listing? For example, if I checked a quote or motto which is free from copyright, but maybe a year later someone else copyrights it, does that mean I have to keep track of all of my designs in case someone copyrights the same quote in the future? Hey there, I did start selling on etsy about a week ago creating ai generated designs. After watching so many videos on POD and considering all the dos and don'ts I started my business 3 weeks ago. I got suspended from red bubble without any reason and didn't get approved by Merch from Amazon. I hope this actually works for a beginner like me 😢

When redbubble changed her tiers i got susspended too , without any reasons , the truth that redbubble did the suspension to many people wiithout reason , and teepublic when u upload your design it wont be shown up on the marketplace your profil will be apprentice and that would made u invisible

So I watched the very first quickstart tutorial you did...and then the next...and the next...and I finished all of them in about 2 days. how many designs recommended uploading a month?

As many as you can 😀 I'd look at it from the expected earnings side, and figure out how much you want to make. I'd say earnings are average about $1/per active listing/per month (and that goes for all the sites). Hope that makes sense, 100 shirts posted on 3 different sites for example is about $300/mo total (or $100/mo from each site). Every time you make a sale, you'll get between $2-$10 profit depending on how big the margin is set on that product. Teepublic sets the prices for you, but all the other sites let you set your own prices and profit margin. The $1 I'm talking about is to give you an average on overall accounts earnings per month. You may have 100 designs live, but only make 20 sales that month. Not every design will sell every month. So if we are averaging between $2-10 per sale (and we got 20 per month) that averages $100 profit that month. With 100 designs, that comes out to about $1 per active design on the account. I hope that helps!

I'll see if I can put together a new video with the best application tips, but here's the one I made previously and it all still holds true today: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXyzYXSFi8ecp5o The only main changes are that they've become more selective than years ago, a lot of it has to do with timing of application unfortunately, and that you can reapply as many times as needed by using a different email address (I've spoken to a lot of people now who have been accepted on their 2nd/3rd/7th/etc try applying with a different email address). Once you're in, you're in, and it's well worth it to spend the effort on the front end.
