As I listened to this song and read the comments of the gentleman whose wife passed in May 2019, I'm reminded of the last outing I had with my mom. I pushed her in a wheel chair 11 long city blocks (roundtrip) to enjoy a scrumptious (last meal, unknown to me) at a restaurant called Oohs and Ahhs in NW DC. I'm brought to tears thinking of the joy it brought her. She passed 28 February 2019. What a beautiful melody to celebrate my mother. 😭

This song is so captivating. It's like you expect someone in a relationship to behave a certain way but when they do you don't change how you treat them. I think the point of the song is that she doesn't see his efforts just like in the video the woman dancing doesn't see how hard the man is trying to get her attention. This song is a very eloquent way of putting a sensitive subject. A lot of relationships end because someone isn't taking notice of the efforts of the other. She tells him to be good and he does but it doesn't matter, she treats him the same and she keeping him hanging on a string waiting for her to notice ( dancing around his cage) but she only See's what she wants to see. He understands she has been hurt so he is paitent ( lions are made for cages but be careful they might just bite) still he wants her to see him for who he is and love him. Beautiful song!

This song is amazing ! - The premise behind it is actually sad. It's a song of a man who could never get close to the woman who had his heart. "Be Good" actually causes him pain because no matter how much he brushes/cuts his mane or cuts his lion claws, she treats him the same. As someone not fit to be close to her. The cold part is that she doesn't even know/understand. The video is misleading in that way. This song though! Bro, Porter just gained a die hard fan.

Giovanni Chisholm I agree that the song is amazing, but I have to disagree that the video is misleading. I think if you really pay attention, all the clues are there. Her dancing so carefree and not knowing she's hurting him. the pictures on the cue cards show how hard he's trying and it's all in vain. It's all there. We just have to pay attention😊😊😊
