I love building tracked vehicles, especially the Tamiya kits. I just wish I could paint them as well as other KZbinrs; hence why you don't see many on my channel 😁👍

Hi Greg, the CIP is the ‘Coalition Identification Panel’ same as the ‘ribbed’ panel on the side we were told that the ribbed pattern and the small ‘glint/reflective’ tape and materials on uniforms and vehicles would reflect differently from the same panels and tape form the first gulf in infa-red devices in case the Iraqis had managed to purchase the Coalition Identification equipment from the first conflict. Great build, I’m currently just finishing off my hull, I have been using this video for reference thanks.

wow...amazing...After watching this video this will be next build. I will be using a spray gun for the first time and I think the Challenger tank would be a good place to start with one main colour used and a nice surface area to practise on!!!!! Like how you used Tamiyas instructions but modified them in your build to create simplicity ...I like that and will do the same....... Will definitely be watching this again for reference...The skirt idea was ace and I think as they are some kind of plastic fabric I will use some oil paints for highlights on this but like your use of deck tan for a base coat. Thanks again...feeling very inspired

I'm just amazed these days how much detail there is on modern model kits. Just come back to modelling after 45 years. Like the Heng Long as haven't much patience for all the fiddly bits, but they come alive once i weather with simple artist acrylics.

Beautiful job Greg, as always! Thanks for the mention. I'll look forward to the Berlin Brigade Chieftain in the future. Shame the Tamiya kit was the wrong mark! I built mine in the standard black green/green livery years ago as I've not got your skills and wasn't brave enough to deviate from that!!! Your use of the hull red pre-shade was inspired to give a lovely variation to the sand yellow. Looking forward to your next project.

Just started RFMs Scots Dragoons chally 2 it's a beautiful build no fit issues atoll! Only thing is the armour isn't textured like Trumpeters kit's I was just wanting a good simple out the box build to get the mojo back because nothing has been out the damb box of late haha! Just goes on n on and get fed up and become shelf queen's! 😂

I'm building Mengs new Chieftain mk10 just now it's really nice! The detail in the suspension is crazy nice n all movable with metal springs like Afv clubs centurion really! Alot nicer track's than takoms the rubber pads Moulded in not a Separate peice so that's a plus! It's in there new white plastic it's great to work with the casting and welds are just lovely it really is worth the money! £70 I was last week its just a tank I've wanted to build but never rated takoms much then saw meng had one out it was in the model shop so got that and RFM stug! I've built both RFMs challengers there nice but wish they made a Charlie 1 next! It's only Tamiya woth a desertized one we need more newer one's!

Can't for the life of me remember, may have been deck tan XF-55. But whatever you do, don't use white 😎
@StevenSeabass2 жыл бұрын

@bobz17363 жыл бұрын
Did you mask off the panels on the turret when you sprayed the various colours?

Yes, certain areas on the turret are masked, but I also used some paper heald in place to get that highlight edge on the front.

Another great build Greg. Would glueing the top and bottom hulls together, so that you could add the frontal armour, but leaving off the sideskirts until later, make any difference do you think?

Looks great! What mix did you use to tone down the Tamiya XF59? That color looks spot on.
@GregsModels4 жыл бұрын
Hi, the mix is, one of many, from the Valentine build. From what I remember Tamiya XF88 and XF59. These can be lightened or darkened with XF55 and XF52. You could play safe and use TS46 Light sand on this tank. Hope this helps.

I'm making this tank with a Trumpeter kit. It's a nightmare. Thousands of tiny parts with a confusing booklet. Most parts don't fit at all, plus you have to drill holes and cut bits off here and there. Awful.
