Today we automate the production of blocks to build our base with as expansion is very much needed to accommodate all of the extra machines we require moving forward. Then we get very lucky, and now have the ability to make full use of our IC2 Crop Farms.

Ashes are also useful as a source of Carbon Dust, if you don't have a Benzene setup producing that directly or indirectly (since another good source thereof is Charcoal Dust). Use that instead of sacrificing precious diamond dust you're going to be short on in the future, if you need it. So the details RE: feeding RF power to machines using GT EU. GT cables, transformers, etc., are able to automatically convert EU into RF, at a 1:3.6 conversion rate. Yes, the default conversion rate is 1:4, but no, GTNH doesn't use this. It was changed to 3.6 in one of the configs, don't know why but there you go. However there is a problem - RF machines don't necessarily understand the concept of Amps, so they'll either consume *all* of the amps on a given line, or they'll only recognise one of them. If you check the Dimensional Transceiver it was reporting an input of 115 RF/t, though that wasn't enough to fill the buffer due to the 500 RF/t passive power drain. 32×3.6=115.2, so we can conclude that in this case the Dimensional Transceiver was only recognizing 1A on the 16A LV line, and thus not getting enough power. The solution to making sure RF machines are well fed and don't cause issues is to use EnderIO Capacitor Banks and - if you're connecting RF machines on a power line - GT Diodes (remember that a machine hull acts as a 1A diode) to regulate power input/output. The diode will make sure that only 1A will ever be send to the RF power line, meaning you'll never have issues with burning cables due to RF machines randomly drawing infinite amps (though if you're smart and make sure your cables can handle the maximum power draw on a given line that won't be a issue regardless). The Capacitor Bank, in turn, will convert this 1A into RF so that your RF machines won't have any issues trying to all feed off of a single amp of EU power. Another thing you can do is limit the RF/t input into Capacitor Banks so that they'll only be able to input up to 1A of a given tier of EU power, though I can't confirm that this will definitely prevent any issues with directly feeding RF off of EU cables. One final note is that Capacitor Banks are not lossy - they are smart enough not to constantly draw a full amp worth of EU if their input is limited to less than a full amp. Dimensional Transceivers, by the way, are available to craft much earlier than Ender Chests/Tanks if you don't pursue any of the early Iridium methods. They're not as convenient to use due to the passive power requirement, and not simple or cheap to craft requiring an LuV circuit and alloys that require a TPV coil to smelt, but they are functional ender chests/tanks that are available without Iridium and and without a small amount of magic progression. Dense Obsidian Plates is one of those things you craft a dedicated machine for that you just refill with a bunch of obsidian plates from time to time. Crafting them on-demand isn't worth the time it takes until you've set up the GT++ bending multi, pretty much. Handling excess oxygen is a curios problem, since you don't want dedicated oxygen producers to run if you're full up on oxygen, but you don't want processes that produce oxygen as a byproduct to stop running just because you're full up on oxygen. This is, in a way, another argument in favor of the half oxygen half Alu dust solution, since in that case you can easily just say that the oxygen is a byproduct, of sorts, even though it isn't. Still, level emitters or wireless covers or wireless redstone or what have you can and will solve this problem one way or another, it's just a question of how you choose to resolve it. I've mentioned before that maintenance was going to become a problem in this era of multis, and that figuring out some sort of solution for it was going to become necessary. Be it maintenance lights or a maintenance control room of some sort - whichever solution you choose to pursue go for it, because you don't want maintenance issues to creep up on you. It's going to be a very long time before you'll be able to fully automate it, and even longer before you'll be able to afford it. EBFs is one of those things you definitely don't want to fall behind on, because you're going to run into issues if you do. Setting up platline to finally get Iridium, for example, isn't going to do you much good if you don't have the IV EBF required to actually smelt the stuff. Particularly for EBFs there's a choice to make that you'd be better off answering right now: Volcani spam or MEBFs? Eventually you're going to need either solution - or a bit of both - to handle the incredible amounts of EBF smelting that the pack is going to throw at you sooner rather than later, so preparing space for it ahead of time would be prudent. Broadly speaking Volcani spam favors a more "passive stockpile of resources" approach and is (relatively) very gently on your ever increasing power demand, though requiring investment into bees or crops to supply the necessary Blazing Pyrotheum easily. A lot of passive/dedicated processes will also involve a lot of AE2 channels, for what that's worth. MEBFs, in contrast, are the definition of a "throw more power at your problems" approach, but if you can supply that power their speed and simplicity are unmatched. You definitely want to reserve a straight line connection to your (future) LSC power bank if at all possible, or at least reserve as straight a line as possible, to later install a Laser connection to fuel the MEBF with the truly absurd amounts of power that it'll need to leverage the edges that it has. Always, *always*, check a machine controller's tooltip for the amount of minimum casings that it needs. The NEI preview is *not* a perfect representation of how multis should be configured, merely a guideline to how they are build (and sometimes not even that). In the case of the GT++ multiblock mixer it actually only requires 6 Multi-Use Casings minimum, instead of the 26 that the NEI preview shows you. That's an awful lot of input/output space to leave on the table, so double-check those controller tooltips. I feel like one of Three's leprechaun union representatives got into a discussion with GTNH about the lack of free ender chests clearly denying the man the luck he's contractually owed, and this sudden rain of dimensional transceivers is the compromise the two sides managed to agree on 🙃. Here's to hoping Three doesn't have any issues figuring out how to build platline into the base, because if so I'm worried about the next, what, two or three processing lines still left in IV? It's a hell of a ride, that's for sure 🙃.

I think the Oxygen solution would be best handled with a restone controll on the passive machine, turning it off when oxygen in main storage reaches 95% or something and turns it back on again if it reaches something like 50%, together with the oxygen byproduct producers having a buffering supertank (tier 1) with void excess enabled so that they will always still produce oxygen and only void any excess when oxygen is full and the 4000 buckets of buffer before going into main storage is also full, maybe use a small p2p (sub-)network for speed on the way from machine output to buffer storage, if speed is required and channels and pipes are to be saved. Its also an option to possibly increase oxygen storage to a second supertank, but that might make p2p fluid handling a little difficult if you suddenly require dedicated p2p fluid I/O... I'd rather abstain from that
@Michael2137.
@Michael2137. Жыл бұрын
Hello! I would put a void excess on the oxygen tank. A lot of processes make oxygen as a byproduct, it means that oxygen can clog up these recipes. So that and just put a priority system on the oxygen maker so it only makes oxygen when it's low. Overall oxygen isn't that valuable to not be voided. Also a reminder, every byproduct counts and nicely stacks up with more recipes, I recommend throwing absolutely every byproduct into a system as long as the final destination (being the supertank) has a void upgrade so it doesn't clog up but still adds up when needed. It saves you a headache.

23:50 instead of limited item filters, you could use gregtech robot arms, they can be placed as covers on gt blocks exactly like conveyors and pumps, and act almost exactly like conveyors with extra smarts. Using them you can specify exactly how many of a specific item you want to keep inside of an inventory (ie: chest/machine input) and gt item filters can be added to filter what items are transferred. Note: take this advice with a grain of salt, all of my gt knowledge comes from omni/nomifactory, I do not know if gtnh changes the behaviour of robot arms/gt item filters

have a floating Threefold logo inside your glass dome so when u look up u can see the logo for the statues maybe you can consider making one of your character? or maybe even a pet you have (in game/irl). You might want to consider having a maintenance room where all the Redstone lamps are put in one spot and ladled with signs to check for issues easier rather than having to run everywhere to check each time, although might be expensive to craft wireless detector covers..

Ideally you don't want to delay setting up *something* for platinum for this long, and as of recent changes (which Three skipped past before updating) it's even a lot harder to do so. Some kind of small setup, like you should have for rutile processing post-Moon, should be sufficient at first. Then later on, once you're ready, you can expand and plop down the full final platline. It's important to keep coils up to date for machines that can make use of them, like the EBFs and multi-smelters, but it's also worth prioritizing and being a little bit of a cheapskate if upgrades aren't totally necessary. Leaving a multi-smelter with Kanthal at this stage would be setting yourself up for disappointment, but a set of TPV coils after upgrading an EBF to HSS-G? That'll probably get the job done, and if not you can take a look at how long it'll upgrade the EBFs to the next tier of coils so their old ones can (once again) go to the multi-smelters or oil cracking units. Depending on the situation it might be worth pursuing that path rather than crafting up a new set or current coils instead. This channel does have a bit of history with floating parking lot bases...or "base", just the one I guess. But either way seeing as how *this* current base is largely underground that approach will, sadly, not work in this instance 🙃. Generally it's advised to stick to meta as much as possible, simply because when everything takes so long and so many resources to build you'd be crazy to take the approach that takes 50 hours instead of 5. That said strictly sticking to the meta is a great way to get burned out or even worse, get bored to death, so tackle those minor vanity projects as you come across them anyway. GTNH is a marathon odyssey no matter how you approach it, so if you're going to be left stark raving mad by the end of it anyway you might as well strap in and enjoy the ride. You can make AE2 processors the normal AE2 way, but in GTNH it's not worth doing so. GT machines (and if not that definitely the GT++ multis) are just faster at processing them, and you're going to be automating literal dozens upon dozens of them anyway, so a few more isn't going to hurt. This is why I recommend building small automation setups like the rutile processing when you're able to. Properly build they continue to function and stay relevant for well past what you'd expect to be their expiration date, and when you've got such a long list of everything you need to build everything to get everything else it's really nice to be able to just skip a step until later. In the example of Rutile processing it should have been obsoleted by a T2 rocket, since at that point you can get pure titanium dust from several T2 planets as small ores. But in practice it keeps running and keeps supplying precious titanium, while the other EBFs are free to process higher end materials like HSS-G, HSS-E, and so on. If you're really on top of future proofing designs you can even hook them up into AE2 as easily as just slapping on a few storage buses and fluid P2Ps, which is very nice indeed when the list of things you need to automate to automate all of the things you need automated to automate all the things seemingly grows larger and larger with every machine you want to craft next. It might seem like a waste to spend redstone dust to produce obsidian, and earlier in the pack I would say that it is, but at this point you *definitely* are going to have some form of glowstone production automated at the very least for circuit production. Meaning automated redstone is likewise within very easy reach, one way or another. And even lacking that regardless MBMs are very good at turning Nether Redstone veins into ungodly amounts of redstone, especially now that the need for centrifuging redstone to produce ruby dust to produce chrome dust has lessened since the Moon gave access to Chromite ore. Bit late now I suppose, but I would highly recommend actually coating your fluix cables to see channel usage on them, and not letting your AE2 become such of a 🍝mess in the first place. Definitely don't delay fixing "temporary" messy setups any longer than you have to, because the more you have to rewire your AE2 network after setting it up the more you're going to have yourself later. Lubricant is something that you should have in needlessly large quantities circa LV, so really the only reason not to feed a cutting machine lubricant is if you want to save yourself a fluid P2P and a channel connection. Neither of which are too expensive at this point, but of course if anything can run slowly it's a passive system, so this will get the job done. Do try to use good recipes where possible, though, because too many of these kinds of garbage recipes will catch up to you if you're not careful. That said there is such a thing as casting pearls before swine, and using something like iridium or, heavens forbid, *osmium* to make something as simple as (bulk amounts of) Rebar *definitely* qualifies as that. Even Alu is questionable, since Alu dust is going to become very critical for Indium processing very soon, and in fact is going to become so critical that one of the recommended solutions for passive oxygen is only half passive oxygen, and half passive Alu (which would be Red Granite Dust from Red Stonelilly). Iron is something you're going to have in absolutely ludicrous quantities from your ore processing system *despite* actively avoiding iron byproducts since they're not worth the time or effort to get, so for something like mass-producing Rebar it's definitely ideal to just throw a ton of iron at the problem and call it a day. For those curious, yes, this does mean you need endstone before your yellow stone lilies are able to produce end stone dust. Worst case scenario there's a Thaumic Bases tree that can generate endstone in the overworld which doesn't require materials from The End to craft, so that's your early source of endstone if you need it. Also note that this mechanic is not exclusive to the stone lilly crops, though it is rare outside of them - magical metal berries, for instance, are able to produce Thaumium, Thauminite or Void Metal depending on what type of crux they're given. There's several ways to replicate limited item filters, Logistics Pipes and Steve's Factory Manager are able to for example, but there's few things as convenient as just a limited item filter. You can find ways easily enough, but finding *convenient* ways is a completely different story.
@James_Moton
@James_Moton Жыл бұрын
Regarding the crops, a) Are there any crops that grow at a different speed based on the crux (i.e. two different cruxes work but one grows the plant faster than the other)? b) If so, are there any crops whereby the best strategy for cultivation is to use one crux to grow the crop and another (different) crux to harvest the crop?
@TheShadowofX
@TheShadowofX Жыл бұрын
@@James_Moton Crux doesn't influence growth speed to my knowledge, and given the difficulty in swapping a crop's crux before it's harvested I don't think the strategy would be worthwhile even if it worked. Once you've got statted crops (or a crop bot) it'd be much easier to simply breed/plant a few more crops to speed up production than it would be to set up some kind of switching mechanism.

Well, no plat line this episode, but even higher hopes for next episode! Especially now with an "ender chest" bringing the crops in! Seriously, knowing how many things need it, even if I don't remember in specific, I can't wait to see what Three does with a consistent platinum upply.

you may know that gtceu has the automatic maintenance hatch - basically a rather expensive block that replaces normal maintenance hatch, but you'll never have maintenence issues again. just wanted to ask if there's something like this in gtnh

So with the mixer coming in the expanded rooms (most likely) next episode, you'll possibly get to the plat line the one after next or one after that? EXITED!!!!

Great video once again and a happy Easter! Is there a reason you set all your storage busses to high-priority rather than the drives to a low-priority (like -1000). Seems like it would save time because you wouldn't have to set every bus you place down.

wait. I'm quite sure I experimented with AE2 priority system once, and got some stupid results like "high priority means storage is used to store first and withdraw first", which means that priorities make no sence.... :idk: oh, well, if it works for you - don't mind me

Will gtnh not let you combine all the recipes for the printed ae2 circuit in the same forming press input bus, and just put all 4 inscriber plates in there? Is there a recipe overlap?

Good job! Quick question can you show the audience, how much power you are using? Just thinking about how much power is being drained from the simultaneous processes
@Threefold.
@Threefold. Жыл бұрын
It's quite tough to tell since all of the transformers, energy hatches and batteries buffer power so it would be impossible to get an accurate reading throughout the whole base :(

I was wondering whether the forming press is smart enough to use the right AE press on its own. It would safe you three interfaces (and channels), but would take up a bit more space in one Input Bus.
@Threefold.

It actually would be, I didn't think about this at the time but I'll be sure to swap it over. Thanks for the suggestion :D

because you are moving machines away from the old part of the base, will you repurpose that part? or is it kinda inconveniently further away? I just wondered what the future plans for that part is

Three you should build a room where you worship our lord and saviour Greg. You need a big statue of Gregorius and one of DreamMasterXXL. Then you must meditate with them for 3 hours a day for a rare chance at the gigachad token
