How to make wall cupboards for our Mercedes Sprinter Campervan Conversion using PSE timber battens and Morland Lightweight Furniture Board.
We build the carcass of the wall cupboards using regular PSE timber and plywood. Screw this light framework to the lining of the van then clad it with High Gloss Zebrano Lightweight Furniture Board supplied and manufactured by Morland UK.
Finally, we install recessed LED lighting into Aluminium channels that are all controlled by a free smartphone app called Magic Home.
For my home-built Kreg Jig Station, you can get Free A4 PDF plans and they are available in both measurement formats.

Screws hidden in the LED channel. Made me smile. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship.

Wherever possible I am trying to plan the build to avoid those little black screw caps. The ones on the bulkhead will be covered by the bulkhead door. This LED was a bit of a gift to get a couple of nice big screws in to help hold the shelf up to the cupboard dividers.

Videos like this are invaluable to people like me with very little experience. There are TONS of little bits of knowledge to pick up on...like taping the plywood before using the jigsaw to keep it from pulling the edges up?? I'm positive that's a trick plenty of people already know, but I didn't know about that until I learned it here. Thanks for the quality content!

I followed this video to produce my own identical wall cupboards. Worked perfectly, but I would increase the depth of the top front rail in the carcase. This provides more support to the hinges you will be fitting and acts to reduce the risk of the doors dropping. Take your time, template carefully and pay attention to detail and you too can have what are lovely cupboards. I had friends visit and look at my van last week. They could not believe I did the conversion. Yet all I did was follow your videos. Thank you Greg.

I trained as a cabinet maker a few years ago and jumped straight in at the deep end by starting my own workshop, fresh out of college. It's been a stupidly steep learning curve and I've made plenty of mistakes along the way. I only wish your videos were around then but, now in the process of converting my own Sprinter, I have found your calm, methodical approach so incredibly useful and, especially in comparison to the ridiculously verbose nonsense of most of our American cousins, straight to the point. It is utterly refreshing and your posts are an absolute pleasure to watch. I have picked up a myriad tips along the way and I can't thank you enough for being a steady, concise, detailed and reliable (not to mention talented) beacon amid the fog of half-wittery that clutters this here social medium. Hearty congratulations and I very much look forward to the next installment.

After watching dozens of self build videos, I finally discovered your mesmerising series. Far from encouraging me to have a go, I realise that anything I attempted would be so lacking in quality that I would absolutely hate the end product. Thank you for freeing me from months of anguish and bitter self recrimination and for potentially saving my marriage from the inevitable torment I would have inflicted on my Wife. Sometimes it is good to appreciate ones own limitations and simply enjoy watching a true master at work. Thanks for the hours of enjoyment.

Fantastic work. I look forward to each episode and am amazed at the attention to detail. Like everyone else comments - rent a shed and start building them, my deposit would be paid.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Derek, I could never make a living out of this, I lack the ability to throw things together quickly so I'm afraid I wouldn't make any profit lol

Greg Virgoe oh ye of little faith! ( A favorite quote of one of my favorite teachers) many would pay and wait, understanding that this level of craftsmenship takes time to get finished properly.

Best cabinet build I have seen. More professional, sturdy-looking, and much more beautiful than the ones produced in the States. I have not been able to find the furniture board you use over here in the USA, maybe I am misspelling it.

I've just discovered your channel and find it so inspirational. My father was an amazing carpenter, built the house I grew up in, but is now 90 years old so won't be able to help me by the time I start my van build. I feel like the quality of your videos will help me make something I can be proud of. Many blessings to you!

Well done Greg I’ve watched every part of the build so far and fully agree what others say “you’ve taken home build conversions to another level” I’m going to miss watching these when you venture off on your travels around Europe. Cheers John

That's really nice of you to say so John, we will continue to post videos on our travels, they won't all be holiday type vlogs there will be some technical ones and tutorials too mixed in. The workshop will still be here when I get back too :D

Hi, great videos I have binge watch with relish. I do have a tip though, perhaps for you but especially for other viewers. I am a carpenter with the same table saw and after watching this video I had to stop it and take a screen shot of how close your hand was to the blade when lifting the baton out, I did the same thing making window shutters and lost a thumb which wasn't pretty, and now makes any intricate work much harder. Be safe and keep up the good work
