This is one of numerous interviews where Greta seems more interested in engaging with the other person than plugging her own project. She seems really generous that way.
@MasterAppels7 жыл бұрын
You can see her as selfish too; she wants to talk about what she wants and doesn't care about his desires. I'm not saying she was selfish, just that you can look at it from the perspective too. She was so great in this video.

Kind of... except she dominates the entire 31 minutes and doesn’t really let him speak. So is it selfless if you’re talking about someone else but won’t let them speak for themselves?

Yep, and so much so that one doesn't even have to necessarily meet her and have a conversation with her where she does that, in order to more or less fall in love with her. Which really sucks for those of us who have been so enchanted by her. Or at least it sucks for me. I absolutely detest unrequited love.

The Place Beyond the Pines is certainly 1 of Ali's best works besides Moonlight which was absolutely beautiful and poetic for such a film about being black in the ghetto always worrying about your masculinity
@J.Moyine4 жыл бұрын
One of the things that makes Greta so good at her profession is her sensitivity. To be a true artist requires such a high level of sensitivity, grace and finesse and those are very difficult qualities to maintain in such a harsh and masculine dominated industry. Props to her ❤️

i love how this interview is from 2016 but you can see the lady bird essence in there. like, how she speakes of sacramento and new york and california... I'm so glad all of those thoughts became such a brilliant film. like when she says "in new york you say you're from the bay area because it sounds cooler", i instantly thought of that dialog at the end of lady bird: "where are you from?" "Sacramento" "sorry, what?" "San Francisco" "oh, cool!"

wow watching greta in this interview and listening to her experiences gives you an understanding of why lady bird was such a success. not only in the way the film was directed but the way the characters performed. i think the process she had with acting transformed her to the director she is today. that safety bubble she mentioned, i kinda saw that with the performances of the actors in her film.

Plenty of shows have one season only villains o.k. its like you coming out saying Buffy The Vampire as a series became retarded after 'The Master' portrayed by Mark Metcalf left the show after the 1st season?!
