I think if you listened to the weight of dreams by them, you would be very impressed. It’s like a 12 minute live song with a crazy solo. Killer vocals that don’t lean super far into geddy lee or anything. I’ve seen it live and it was incredible

Their newer album really shows their growth. I mean, they were kids basically for their first album. But what talent! And I said the same thing about the Getty Lee sound in his voice! I can’t wait to hear what they come out with when they have another few years under their belts, from touring to studio work…they will only get better.

The 2 songs you've done are both from their debut EP. They have 2 full albums since then. They're doing something right. They are scheduled to be one of the opening bands when Metallica plays here (Highmark Stadium, Buffalo Bills home) in Aug. And they are still kids. Lead singer Josh Kiska and his twin brother Jake on guitar just turned 26. Brother Sam on bass is 3 years younger.

You mentioned you hope Josh(vocals) is taking care of his voice, and he is. He has one of the top vocal coaches, Ron Browning, who has helped him learn fantastic breath control and how to avoid damaging his voice. They are all very talented in what they do, and they’re only getting better!

I agree, Josh has been sounding a lot more Geddy Lee than Robert Plant as time goes by. If you could teleport them back to Woodstock, they would have fit right in, and become legends.

Although I'm nay a GVF fan, I do admit that their look, and their sound screams 'The 70's'! They gave me a big nostalgia hit back to my early days as a garage band guitarist just learning some chops and I agree that they were born in the wrong decade. They would have been HUGE!! That bassist was very impressive! Definitely wanting to hear more.

I see this was a year ago and the song was 2018 I think. They have come a long way I'd be interested for your reaction to Weight of Dreams live at Beale St festival this year. Jake ( guitar) won the poll for best solo of the 21st century ( so far) the cream were in there Inc Slash etc. Thanks for your reaction.

You need to listen to the song : Broken Bells: Candle Light sessions. Both of the songs you have done was written when they were about 18 and 14 yrs old. Their newer stuff is so much better.

If this had been the first song id heard by this band, it probabaly would have been the last. Luckily, i heard Broken Bells, and now their one of my favorite new bands. Hope you get to hear that one soon.

Broken Bells is definitely one of their best songs so far, but Black Smoke Rising is one that i always seem to come back to. It's a bit like "Whole Lotta Love" in that it's a solid song with a lot of energy that nicely rounds out their live shows. I love the entire Safari Song/Drum Solo/Black Smoke Rising suite that has become a staple of their live performances, the best of which imo is the Red Rocks Amphitheater performance.

Never have been, they write their own songs, granted Highway Tube did have that sound. But he wrote it when he was 15 ! They have come a long way. Mind it did go no 1 for 4 weeks and was nominated for a grammy, one of 4 they were nominated for. the ep it was on won a granny, they have never played a LZ song since schooldays and never covered one either. The rip off accusation's hack me off cos much as I love LZ they did rip off quite a few. These young guys deserve a deal of credit
