In my opinion he should react to the Studio version first. I think that the first time you hear a song, it "always" should be the Studio version. Because the Studio version is how the song is supposed to be in its original form, the sound of it etc. And then listen its other form (live).

A vocal coach described Josh's voice as a "gritty mix" which sounds like an accurate description. I love our GVF boys so much. Love seeing your authentic reaction.

My very favorite so far! My husband and I saw them a few years ago. He’s an old rocker and had discovered them on Jimmy Fallen our adult kids bought us tickets. It was great and they just get better and better. So glad people are discovering them.

Stellar reaction, Dan! Glad you love them as much as we do! Josh has an OVER 2 1/2 octave range - and uses it to the max. STARDUST CHORDS is great and the vocals in the chorus will knock you out of your chair! Can't wait to watch you as you listen to it. Have a good one. ☮️ 💖

Wow, thank you so much Lemon Lover. Really appreciate that. I seen that you commented on my Heat Above reactions as well, so thanks for that. I'm really enjoying them. I will be recording another reaction to GVF coming up this week, I'm hoping!

Love your reaction. I think the music critics, especially in rock genre, are doing a lot of damage to GVF image, they don't like them, hate on them, call them "The least relevant rock band now" etc. But when people actually take a time and listen to them, they're amazed just like you. I'm infecting everybody with GVF love, my whole family loves them now 😁

They are if anything even better in front of a live audience including Lead singer Josh! He can hold notes that will blow your mind. I recommend watching their entire concert from Live At Red Rocks! It was a 3 night concert event. It is just songs from the first album, but this is a band I’d be happy to pay expensive prices for tickets because they are that good live.Everyone writes them off as a Led Zeppelin tribute band which is completely missing the point. They were 16-17 when they wrote their first album. This song is from their second album which they were at most writing maybe between 21-23 years old. It’s yet another brilliant three brother band with a best friend from schools’ drumming. I understand hearing the Led Zep thing of course, I was also hearing Rush probably partly because the singer and one half of the twins (lead guitarist is other fraternal twin Jake) Josh’s voice makes me think of Geddy Lee. Danny’s drumming is a bit more technical like Rush’s late great Neil Pert (though not at Pert’s level yet obviously). But again people that pigeon hole them are doing them a great injustice because they’re not really listening, just responding essentially “been there done that”. I think right now they are 25 with their younger brother Sam (keys and bass) being about a year younger @24. Can you imagine what they might be writing in 10 years?! Twenty? Thirty?! I can’t wait. I only wish they would take advantage of three part harmonies. Genetically related harmonies are sublime. I can only think of one song I’ve seen Josh and Jake do a couple harmonies on live.

Age of Machine is a perfect contrast to Light My Love. You go from the beauty and majesty of LML to a tear your face off dark piece of genius in AOM which I’m sure is in homage to their previous Age of Man which is purely epic too. They’ve got the gift.

Danny explained that most, if not all of their music, they write it in a Folk music framework. Then, all the guys work on songs from that. Then, they build & build --->Greta Van Fleet knows how to play real instruments very well. It's home. It's authentic.
@TricieBeline3 жыл бұрын
Yep any song you review from Greta is amazing. Specifically, Broken Bells and Weight of Dreams from their new album are two of my favorites and Lover, Leaver, Taker, Believer and Edge of Darkness are a couple faves from their prior stuff…
