I am 5 months into my transition. It’s been surprising in a similar way to yours in that I discovered my straight hair is much more wavy/curly than I ever thought. Another huge surprise is that I love my natural hair color. I actually only have a three inch wide strip of solid silver hair right in the front at my part line. I would have paid good money at the salon for something that I had all along. Love your videos and the inspiration 💕

I'm so glad you love your natural colour! And it's nice to hear from someone else who realized their hair was actually more curly than you thought 😊

Last August I decided to go grey. Well I did the demarcation tip. It worked than and 3 weeks ago I went and got a long pixie. I love it. I also thought it would be maintenance free but to my surprise it isn’t. Yet I still love it as well as all who see it. At first it was scary having brunette hair and then white coming in. Now that it’s mostly in the color is really nice. Ty for all the tips and coming back periodically to let us see the results. 😀👍🏼👏🏽

Believe it or not, you are 1-2 months from it getting a lot easier. A great cut really helps (not short necessarily), just something that feels stylish. 😁 Welcome to the journey

Feb 22 was my last time of getting color.. I am loving my grey hair.. My hair is wavy , with a few curls and it makes it look like a nice mix of grey and brown. someone yesterday asked me if I go my hair done that way.. I said no just letting the gray and white grow out. She told me how nice it looked... It made my day!

Good for you! I’m 2 and half years in. The more your hair grows the more you will love it! Dye strip is nit that common. Coming from a professional cosmetologist 😁 But some add silver highlights in to help it along. Most of us just ride it out 💞 I’ve never had yellow, it’s not too common but it can be a simple fix like changing some hair products. If necessary just use some helpful products that cut silver. My hair is so soft and silky and maintenance free other than waves bd curls. Enjoy your journey.

Beautiful!! Have you considered using an ashy toner on your bottom hair so it blends in with your gray?

Your hair looks great! I know that hair takes FOREVER to grow out but just be patient, take the focus off your hair by not worrying about it too much and your hair will have grown out before you know it. I have moments when I'm just not 'feeling' the grey hair 😂 but in the end you will have beautiful low maintenance silver hair. You have already made it to 8 months! Congratulations!! Have a lovely day! 😀

No problem. I know how hard it is to grow out hair. I'm only 2 and a half months into it and I try to avoid staring at my grey hair in the mirror for too long. 😀 I'm looking forward to seeing your final result. I find that grey hair doesn't make me look older it's just basically another colour. Good luck with your journey! 😀

Love the new hair cut it really suits you. I started back in February when we here in Australia started our lockdown & we were heading into winter so I was able to wear lots of beanies & I gave myself 2 haircuts during lockdown which look good considering & in the last two weeks as it’s now summer over here so I got my haircut to chin length. I’ve noticed that my silver is getting darker which is nice & I’ll just keep cutting it short for now & hopefully by my one year mark I’ll be done with the transition🤞🏽💕

It looks great! I know hair takes FOREVER to grow out but you just need to be patient and not obsess over your hair too much. I am also going cold turkey and have moments where I'm not 'feeling' the grey hair but your grey hair is actually even looking whereas mine is all different shades. Just keep going because the time will pass and your hair will be grown out before you know it. 😃 Then you will have beautiful low maintenance silver hair. Have a lovely day!

Did the same. May was the last time dyed. Hairstyling has been a problem. I am a nurse and when I pull my hair back you see all the gray. It makes me want to dye again which I resisted. Just got a cut Christie eve day. The stylist likes how the gray is coming in. Still a e brown too. And old ha ih r dye has lightened so currently sporting an ombre look.

I love your confidence and I find it really admirable - you are a great role model, just by being yourself! I'm new here so I'm wondering, how old are you? You look very young! I'm a little worried about getting gray hair myself, my mom got it when she was a little younger than me (I'm 37) but my dad didn't get gray hair until his mid-60s. I stopped dying my hair almost 10 years ago and just let it go to its natural mousy blonde color. I think it's nicer to be at peace with our bodies as they are. I stopped wearing makeup as well. It's a challenge but I think it's worth it to just be myself.
@DitchingDietsDye4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Lisa 😊 That's so kind of you to say. I'm 39 years old. And yes, I completely agree it's nicer to be at peace with our bodies as they are 🙌

Transition is hard. I have grays just on the fringe area for the moment but want to grow them out as well as my natural color. After 4 months you can really see the difference between my natural color and the previous one, which has become much lighter with washes. I am so eager to let it go that sometimes I am tempted to get a haircut. But I am not sure yet so I put my hair up for now when it bothers me :)

Yep, you have gray hair, however I prefer to say silver. 😉 It looks pretty! I’m a month ahead of you and probably have more dark hair at the roots than you, but hey...we’re getting there🥳.
@DitchingDietsDye4 жыл бұрын
Yes! We are getting there. And I do agree silver is a preferred term. I guess years of talking about covering my 'grey' has conditioned me. Maybe if we all called it silver, we wouldn't want cover it up as much 😉
